CollegeDunia is operated by Collegedunia Web Pvt Ltd, a Delhi based company which has recently raised 1 Crore Rs i.e. $162787 in an angel funding from Gaadi.com’s CEO Umang Kumar ( MIH acquired ) and some other investors ( details undisclosed ).
As per the details given by Mr. Sahil Chalana ( founder of CollegeDunia ), all funds will be used in activities like improving technology, operations, marketing etc. ( More Info on iamwire )
CollegeDunia was founded in May 2014 and seeing that this funding would prove very beneficial for the website in improving its service. At present CollegeDunia has around 30 employees working in various departments like technology, content writing, sales, marketing and they are planning to hire more 40 in next 6 months. As per the stats given by the website it serves around 1 Lakh visitors per month and hoping to get around 1 Million in next 6 months.
At present CollegeDunia only lists major colleges and universities across India but in near future they are planning to add coaching institutes, polytechnic institutes etc. CollegeDunia has also been featured on Yourstory.
