At last 14.1.G.2.257 firmware update rolled out for Xperia Z1, a major update it is. A few days back we reported that 14.1.G.2.257 firmware is coming soon for Xperia Z1 and here it comes 🙂 Current 14.1.G.1.534 firmware is replaced by this new series 14.1.G.2.257 firmware and it has brought a lot many changes under the hood for Xperia Z1 users. Sony has also confirmed that a new update is rolling for both Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra and also listed an official changelog, well we will discuss it later. To our knowledge 14.1.B.2.257 firmware update for Xperia Z Ultra also will be coming out soon.
14.1.G.2.257 firmware on Xperia Z1 keeps it on Android 4.2.2 and is confirmed on both C6902 HSPA+ and C6903 LTE handsets. 14.1.G.2.257 firmware is confirmed in regions like Vietnam, France, Netherlands and to some user’s C6903 in USA ( AT&T ).

14.1.G.2.257 firmware is available via OTC as well as PC Companion / SUS and on Bridge for Mac. Xperia Z1 users are asked to check it. If you see a notification in update center app on your phone then update via it other wise connect it to PC Companion.
Check the notification as it is shown below and proceed as per on-screen instructions.

Xperia Z1 14.1.G.2.257 firmware Changelog – As what Sony says…
Sony has officially acknowledged the 14.1.G.2.257 firmware update info on their blog and listed the changelog very carefully as Xperia Z1 users are facing many issues on present unstable firmware.
Below changelog is based on what Sony has updated. We will soon update our changelog as soon as we get hands on this firmware.
- Camera Algorithm Tweaked – Batter Camera Pics now as per Sony’s statement.
- Xperia Camera app runs more smoothly. New camera app actually, new settings seen.
- Display is calibrated, need to see whether yellow hue tint issue on Xperia Z1 is resolved or not.
- Batter power consumption now.
- Exchange sync more better now.
Our Changelog on 14.1.G.2.257 firmware
- Automatic power-off issue Still there. Got 3 times.
- Wi-Fi range improved.
- Touch sensitivity is better from previous firmware.
- Optimized backlight option is gone now, and is permanently ON now.
- Display not improved seems same to us. It many have been improved but not for as. It’s still same as it was before.
- Battery draining at same rate, no improvement.

- NFC icon now shown while it is activated.

no idea, still waiting. Many countries have not got it yet. Though it is updated in Sony's respective region website.
What i think is now try to re-install firmware via PC Companion or SUS you may get the Indian version of it.

I wanted to tell that :- first flash .257 ftf for c6902 and then re install firmware via sus then do you get indian version or journalist ????
Now it will not void warranty. 100% safe. No root needed
Download ftf
Download flashtool from above
Now install flashtool
Open the location where flashtool installed, create folder "source files" now keep ftf file in this folder
Now run flashtool, click on lightnig icon, choose flashmode, select the source folder, chose the ftf file,
Uncheck the boxes of wipe data cache log
And click on to install ftf
will wait for official update for some time .....to be honest i am afraid to do that manually ....will do that if no other go

yeah your change log is perfect .. i dont see no changes after a good three days of testing ... and the camera is still not upto the mark with lot of noise in the images....it doest look like big sensor or 20.7 optics or g lens present inside and one more thing my mobie heat up so quickly ..it goes to 42 degrees with light usage and 46degrees with average usage and insane 50 degrees with heavy usage ... is it only with my phone or a software issue ?? if you share your thoughts i might go for a replacement (heating issue is present before and after the update ) help me out ...
take heating issue very seriously, it may be due to faulty battery. Take it to customer care. show them up. Show the heating to them with temperature. they will do software update. Let them do. Than you again show them heating and get a replacement...if it's not a software issue. Do not agree to have faulty hardware with yourself :)
