As you all know Xperia Z2 apps and features have been ported to many Xperia Smartphones so far and now comes the most interesting port in form of Xperia Z2 4K video cam app and TimeShift video app. Xperia Z2 TimeShift Video app allows you to record video at 120 fps and then you can slow any part of video and Xperia Z2 4K video cam app allows you to record videos at 4K resolution exclusively.
Till now these ports have been successful Xperia Z2 Smart call handling feature port, Xperia Z2 Camera apps Addons port – Creative Effects, AR Effect 2.0.4 , Background Defocus 1.1.7, TimeShift Video port and Xperia Z2 KitKat Media apps viz. Xperia Z2 4K Cam app and TimeShift Video port
XDA dev xperiaz2 ( Ash Cyrus ) has successfully ported 4K video cam and TimeShift Video app. You must have Sony Social Camera app installed on your Xperia smartphones, must be rooted and must have CWM recovery installed.
[ UPDATE – 13 March ] Creative Effect 1.0, Timeshift Video from 17.1.A.1.2 firmware, Install it.UPDATE :- Just Install below mentioned two files and all should work fine 🙂 Confirmed working on Xperia ZR, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z1.
All below apks and files have been successfully working on “DeOdexed ROMS”. So Deodex your ROM before trying them.
Download newSuperVideoCamera.apk
After downloading above Xperia SuperVideoCamera apk, push in system/app folder, set permissions and reboot.
Copy the libs file from below zip file to system/lib
Download SuperVideoCameraLibs.zip
For Xperia Z / ZL users – Copy libtimeshiftnative.so in system/lib folder and install below SomcMovieCreator.apk
Download xperiaz2SomcMovieCreator.apk

You can also install Xperia Z2 new Camera widget app. Download the below apk and push in system/app, set permissions rw- r– r– and reboot.

Have you tried it? Does it really allow you to capture 4k videos in mid-range phones? No lag, no stuttering, no file writing issues??
Well TimeShift Video works well 120 fps and slow motion akk good.
4k libs files are not added yet, as soon as they are posted 4k will be available to record.
Z1 z1c zu shouldn’t show any lags but anyother handset like XZ ZL ZR will show lag surely.

I have tried to install timeshift video but after installing the camera stopped working , it says camera not working.
I am running original stock rom(oxed) …. is there any way de-oxe this rom and install the time shift video or is there an easier way to make it work?? please help 🙁

you have just screwed my Z1 now i did all the things mentioned here, i’m rooted, deodexed, .136 and after flashing the libs nothing’s working! even replacing the SemCameraUI the camera just disappeared!
That’s bad, don’t panic just restore your old stock camera files.
P.S. All files are from the developer not by ourself, you may get success in porting and sometimes you don’t.

For some it is laggy and for some not, some are able to install and some are not…even dev has no idea why it is happening..! Hope we need to wait untill Sony rolls it officially on other phones so we can have real 120 fps video 🙂

Nope z2 has supervideocamera.apk which contains timeshift video and 4k app so it seems both apps are necessary for either to work.
Sony will update these apps only in firmware update.

Timeshift is working, but the slowmo is very laggy. 4k is installed but when I open it it says something like ‘no camera available’.

I have installed the libs via CWM and the apk normal (Pushed it to /system/app). When i start it, it brings me the message that video has stopped (in my language:”Leider wurde Video beendet”) I use RomAur V3.0 on Xperia Z1c. What can i do to make these Apps run (Timeshift & 4K)???

on my Z1 Compact with Resurrection Remix ROM and found 2 icons, namely 4K video and Timeshift video. None will run with FC. Widget also working won’t launch anything. What else is missing?
Anurag, Is it possible to install this 4k app on a Towelrooted Z1 Compact. Or It is must to install recovery and TWRP. Any step by step guide to install the app.
