Root 14.4.A.0.108 firmware on Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z1 Compact

Sony has officially updated Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact on android 4.4.4 14.4.A.0.108 firmware a few days back which brought some security enhancement, more smooth UI and firmware, some new apps like Whats New app available now. If you are looking to Root 14.4.A.0.108 firmware, follow the below mentioned tutorial.

You must be running 14.4.A.0.108 firmware on your handset. Kindly keep in mind root voids warranty so in case you are wishing to get it back after rooting you need to flash back the original firmware either by FlashTool or PC Companion/SUS. We have tested the below rooting method on our Xperia Z1 and it works fine.

How to Root 14.4.A.0.108 firmware

Tested Devices: Android 4.4.4 running Xperia Z1 C6903/C6906/C6902/C6943/SO-01F, Z Ultra C6802/C6806/C6833, Z1 Compact – D5503, SO-02F. Android 4.2.2 running Xperia Z2 D6503/SO-03F, Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP511/SGP512/SGP521, Xperia Z C6603/C6602, Xperia Tablet Z SGP311, Xperia ZL2 SOL25, ZR C5502, A2 SO-04F and many more.

Download 14.4.A.0.108 firmware ftf – Do so if you are non on android 4.4.4

Pre-requisites 

  • Enable USB Debugging on your device. To do so, go to Developer settings > Enable USB Debugging. If your phone don’t have developer settings option, tap on your build number 5 times to get.
  • Enable Unknown Sources option. To do so, go to Settings > Security > Enable unknown sources option.
  • Connect your phone to PC and let adb drives install.

Steps

  • Download “Easy Root Tool” version V8 from below.

Download EasyRootTool v8.zip

  • Connect your phone to PC and extract the above file on PC. You will get 3 files as shown below.

  • Click on Install.bat to run and follow the on screen instructions.

  • Tap on “make it rain” button on phone when asked to do so.
  • Your phone is rooted now, check the on screen instructions on your PC. Your phone will not reboot.

Now you have got root 14.4.A.0.108 firmware.

Download the Root Checker app from Play Store to verify for root access. Download latest version of Super User app on your device. Update binaries on your device via Super User app if asked to do so ( choose normal mode only ).
