Xperia Z series getting Android 5.1 Lollipop in August, Telstra support says

Sony Mobile is right now busy in rolling Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in Xperia “Z” series as promised by them. Android Lollipop 5.0.2 update is left so far on Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z from the list of devices getting Android Lollipop. Telstra support says that Android 5.1 Lollipop update might be coming for Xperia “Z” series in August this year.

As per Telstra support, Android 5.1 Lollipop update submission for Xperia Z, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z1 was received on May 1 although a showstopper issue has been identified. New submission dated expected to be around July 10 and expected deployment date around August 10.

As usual global variants receive updates faster than carrier handsets so we might see Android 5.1 Lollipop rolling on Xperia “Z” series earlier than August.

As when Sony Mobile is done updating its whole Xperia “Z” series on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, we can expect some official statement from their side on Android 5.1 Lollipop roll out.

Besides all rumors have started floating about Android “M” coming soon also.
