Sony DSC-KW1 19.2 MP Selfie Camera launched at $844.6 / RMB 5199

Sony has officially announced its perfume bottle shaped Selfie DSC-KW1 digital camera with 19.2 MP resolution. Sony DSC-KW1 camera features a 3.3″ OLED screen. It has 21 mm F2.0 camera lens ( 180 degree rotatable ). It looks like a smartphone cased inside a perfume bottle.

Sony DSC-KW1 is available in four colors i.e. white, pink. mint and purple; priced very high at $844.6 / RMB 5199 ( Yuan ). Sony DSC-KW1 is Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity enabled. It can capture videos at 1080p resolution.

Sony DSC-KW1 camera also features functions like touch slide shutter, self timer. It’s surface is inlaid with dazzling Swarovski elements.

10.5.1.A.0.283 firmware has been certified at PTCRB for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet which is a higher build over previous 10.5.A.0.233 firmware update. Sony has already updated Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra on android 4.4.4 KitKat version while other Xperia “Z” series handsets are still on android 4.4.2.

10.5.1.A.0.283 firmware is believed to bring android 4.4.4 update for the time being but it can also be bug fixing update ( for the severe battery drain issue ).

Sony has already announced Xperia C3 a few days back and now the process of its launch in various regions has started. Xperia C3 is already available in Russia and today Sony launched it in India also at a price tag of Rs 23990 i.e. 397$. We noticed that some firmwares have been certified for Xperia C3 at PTCRB which clearly means that Sony is all set to launch Xperia C3 in various markets.

Xperia C3 has seen till now 3 firmwares certifications i.e. 19.2.A.0.344, 19.2.A.0.362 and 19.2.A.0.383. 19.2.A.0.383 firmware is the latest one to get certified, android 4.4 version as mentioned by Sony.

Sony SmartWatch SW3 & Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact pic unknowingly outed by Sony

Sony is all set for its IFA 2014 event and the launch of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact is very much confirmed but recently rumors for Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and Sony SmartWatch SW3 caught fire. Sony Mobile has unknowingly outed the pic of Sony SmartWatch SW3 & Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact (believed to be).

Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is expected to feature a shorter 7″ or 8″ display panel with the specifications very much similar to that of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact.

Below you can see the pic of white Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and a black Sony SmartWatch SW3, both near water pool which clearly indicates that both devices will be water resistant.

A new 17.1.2.A.0.323 firmware has hit carrier dependent Xperia Z2 handset in UK and Germany on Vodafone carrier. 17.1.2.A.0.323 firmware is only available on LTE variant for the device for the time being and not spotted on regular variants of Xperia Z2.

As the date of Sony’s IFA 2014 event is approaching, we are seeing Xperia Z3 related info popping up frequently; latest one included passing of network license of Xperia Z3 L55t and Xperia Xperia Z3 L55u at China’s TENAA. Recently Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact images have appeared online and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact listing was spotted in Sony’s official document of Bluetooth Speaker BSC10A.

Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact rumors are in the air and now an official confirmation on the existence of Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact ( probably Sony SGP621 which was spotted on Indonesian Postel a few days back ) have been spotted in the official support documents of Sony Bluetooth Speaker ( BSC10A ).

Documents reads that Sony Bluetooth Speaker BSC10A is compatible with Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and the support document was revised today. It clearly indicates that Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is on its way along with its siblings Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Smartphone and may see the launch at IFA 2014, 3 Sept 2014 event at Berlin.

Sony has started rolling officially android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Xperia M2 single SIM variants i.e D2303 LTE and D2305 HSPA+ in form of 18.3.C.0.37 and 18.3.A.0.31 firmware respectively. Xperia M2 KitKat update is still in seeding stage but confirmed in regions like Russia, Singapore, Thailand, France.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is only spotted for Xperia M2 D2303 LTE variant in form of 18.3.C.0.37 firmware while on HSPA+ version D2305 it still has not been spotted. Update is available over PC Companion only for the time being.

Sony Sketch 4.2 app 2.0.A.1.6 version update rolling out

Sony has updated its native Sketch app to newer version 2.0.A.1.6 from previous Sketch 4.1 app 2.0.A.1.1 version. Sketch 4.2 app 2.0.A.1.6 version has brought many noticeable changes like notifications whenever new sticker pack is available. Sony mentioned that premium stickers are available for download free for the time being.

Sketch 4.2 app 2.0.A.1.6 version update is available over OTA on Xperia handsets running Android 4.3+. It is confirmed on handsets like Xperia Z1, Z2, Z, ZL, ZR, Z Ultra, L etc.

Xperia Pureness v1 Theme gives you customized icons for many system apps and settings with green as ascent color in the theme UI. It works for Xperia devices running android 4.3 and 4.4.

Download Sony Underwater Apps – Detects when phone is under water

Sony came up with flagship water resistant Xperia “Z” series and now series of Sony Underwater Apps have been spotted on Play Store which automatically detects when your phone is under water and comes in play then. At present Sony Underwater Apps are exclusive for T-Mobile Xperia Z1s and Xperia Z in USA.

At present Sony Underwater Apps are officially not working on other Xperia water resistant handsets like Xperia Z1, Ultra, Z, ZR, Z2. To make Sony Underwater Apps work on your device other than Xperia Z1s and Xperia Z ( T-Mobile ) you need to edit your build.prop file to phone model as C6916.

New firmwares i.e 18.1.A.1.21, 18.2.A.1.18 firmware have been certified for Xperia T3 on PTCRB, both updates are minor udpates looking at their build keeping Xperia T3 on Android 4.4.2. Both LTE and HSPA+ variant of Xperia T3 have got new firmware certification.

Xperia T3 18.1.A.1.21 firmware is certified for D5103, D5106 LTE variant of device, moving it from present 18.1.A.1.17 firmware build. 18.2.A.1.18 firmware is certified for Xperia T3 D5102 / M50w HSPA+ variant.
