Sony Lifelog app has been updated to newer 2.1.A.0.6 version which brings some important changes including improved power consumption. Now you can receive notification about all achieved goals. Sony has also extended Sony Entertainment Network account support to let you sign in with Google also.

Sony D2203 specifications leaked on GFXBench benchmark – 6.1″ FWVGA display, Snapdragon 400

Sony D2203 has been benchmarked at GFXBench, displaying all its specifications and similarly related Sony D2202 and Sony D2212 have already been appeared on Indonesian Postel certifications. After seeing the leaked specifications it seems Sony is planning to launch a 6.1″ FWVGA display device.

Sony D2203 specifications reads as Android 4.4.2 OS, 854 x 480 6.1″ touchscreen with at least 5 finger gesture support, Snapdragon 400 ( Cortex A7 @ 1190 MHz ) Quad Core, Adreno 305 GPU, 4 GB internal storage, 1 GB RAM, 5 MP rear cam and VGA front cam.

With 6.1″ screen display and such a low resolution we are definitely seeing a low end device from Sony for a dedicated market only.

Sony Walkman 8.4.A.3.1 update – Added Folder Support

A new update to Sony Walkman has been updated to newer 8.4.A.3.1 version from older 8.4.A.1.5/8.4.A.1.4 version. Walkman 8.4.A.3.1 update brings a new feature i.e. Folder support added and now you can navigate to all folders from device’s memory to access the music files.

Other noticeable improvements in the Walkman 8.4.A.3.1 update includes Walkman widget to work on android home screen and possible performance enhancement and security bug fixes.

Portrait Retouch Camera apps allows you to add different beauty styles to your captured image. You can add decorative frames, make-up effects. Re-touching two people in the same pic function exists.

Xperia M2 KitKat 18.3.C.0.37, 18.3.A.0.31, M2 Dual 18.3.B.0.31 firmware certified

Sony recently rolled android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual and promised KitKat for Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual will follow up soon. New Android 4.4.2 KitKat 18.3.C.0.37, 18.3.A.0.31 firmwares have been certified for Xperia M2 and 18.3.B.0.31 firmware for Xperia M2 Dual on PTCRB.

Android 4.4.2 build will hit Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual with hopefully app to SD card support as spotted in Xperia E1, E1 Dual, T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual’s KitKat update.

Alleged Xperia Z3 Compact hands on pics leaked

A new set of alleged Xperia Z3 Compact hands on pics have been leaked which clearly shows what Sony has planned for Xperia Z3 Compact. A day back we saw CAD drawings of Xperia Z3 Compact dimensions getting leaked showing it will be 64.9 mm in length. Xperia Z3 Compact is believed to feature 4.6″ 1080p FHD display i.e. whooping 478 ppi, Snapdragon 801 processor chipset, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB Memory, 20.7 MP rear cam with Sony “G” Lens.

What we saw in latest alleged Xperia Z3 Compact hands on pics that Sony has planned a similar 20.7 MP rear cam with LED flash in center rather than below the cam. 3.5 mm headphone jack, magnetic connecting charger port and USB port is housed inside SD card slot.

Xperia C 16.0.b.2.16 firmware update rolling – Android 4.2.2

Sony has pushed a new 16.0.b.2.16 firmware update for Xperia C over previous 16.0.b.2.13 build, keeping Xperia C on android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the time being. 16.0.b.2.16 firmware update is available over PC Companion only for the time being, no OTA seen yet. To update you need PC Companion remember Sony has discontinued SUS so you can’t update via SUS.

16.0.b.2.16 firmware is confirmed in India and other Asian regions. 16.0.b.2.16 firmware is minor big fixing update only, updated by Sony on Xperia C software support page also.

Xperia E1 20.1.A.0.47, E1 Dual 20.1.B.0.64 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update rolling

Sony Mobile has officially rolled out android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update for Xperia E1 Dual and Xperia E1, making the announcement on their blog today. Xperia E1 and E1 Dual users can now update their handset over KitKat, confirmed in India and European regions.

Xperia E1 D2004 and D2005 has got 20.1.A.0.47 firmware while Xperia E1 Dual D2104 and D2105 has got 20.1.B.0.64 firmware update. Update is available over PC Companion, No OTA seen yet.

Sony has confirmed giving app to SD card feature for Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual in this update saying this feature will be useful for devices with low internal memory. It was first spotted in Xperia T2 Ultra’s KitKat update recently.

As a part of changelog, new transparent status and navigation bar spotted, new Xperia home launcher, new Xperia themes, tweaked Xperia keyboard, Xperia lockscreen effects and boot animation.

New Sony Media apps along with updated Camera app is present. For PlayStation 4 users, new UI is introduced. Smoother UI, performance enhancement, built-in screenshot taking option in power menu now.

Sony SGP621 Tablet coming soon, 8″ or 10″ screen display ?

IFA 2014 event is coming soon and Sony Mobile is all set for its press conference on 3 Sept, meanwhile there are rumors about Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact existence, it seems Sony is also planning a new Sony SGP621 Tablet in near future. Sony SGP621 Tablet has been certified at Indonesian Postel.

Sony SGP621 Tablet syncs in with previously released Sony SGP521 Xperia Z2 Tablet LTE and Sony SGP321 Xperia Z Tablet LTE; if we go by this naming convention we may be possibly looking at Xperia Z3 Tablet though launching a successor for Xperia Z2 Tablet at this moment makes no sense to us. There are rumors that Sony may come up with a 8″ screen display tablet.

A new 14.4.A.0.133 firmware has been certified for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact on PTCRB. Sony has already updated these Xperia handset to Android 4.4.4 KitKat. 14.4.A.0.133 seems a minor bug fixing update only over current build 14.4.A.0.108 firmware.

14.4.A.0.118 firmware saw a limited release on a few carrier Xperia Z1 devices. Hopefully we will see this time a global rollout of 14.4.A.0.133 firmware. Almost for all variants of above mentioned devices, 14.4.A.0.133 firmware is certified.

Sony has finally rolled much awaited Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on T-Mobile Xperia Z1s C6916 for US users in form of 14.4.B.0.37 firmware via PC Companion. Xperia Z1s was launched at CES 2014 event with android 4.3 out of the box. Sony has not updated the latest build on its product page yet.

14.4.B.0.37 firmware brings features like new Xperia home launcher, new Xperia themes, customized Xperia Keyboard, transparent navigation and status bar, white status bar icons, new Sony Media apps, new bootanimation, more responsive touch screen and features like answering machine in call settings.
