Another remarkable budget android smartphone OPlus XonPhone 5 will be hitting Indian markets tomorrow i.e. 24 July. At a press conference in New Delhi, OPlus Technology CEO Soumitra Gupta, Director of Sales Ranadip Kundu and Snapdeal’s Sandeep Komaravelly (VP Marketing) will be unveiling the OPlus XonPhone 5 tomorrow.

OPlus XonPhone 5 is powered with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, MediaTek MTK6582 1.3 GHz A7 cortex quad core processor, Mali-400 MP GPU and 5″ 720p HD Display ( 320 PPI ). It features 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with external memory card support upto 32 GB, 8 MP rear cam, 2 MP front cam and 2000 mAh battery. OPlus XonPhone 5 is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 170 grams. OPlus XonPhone’s ( GSM 850/900/1800/1900Mhz, UMT 2100 Mhz bands ) 3G variant will be available in market.

Sony Mobile launched Xperia T3 in India, New Delhi today at price Rs 27990 i.e $466 to be made available from 28 July at all leading Sony and Electronics store. Xperia T3 features Snapdragon 400 1.4 GHz quad core processor packed in 7 mm thin aluminium frame. Xperia T3 has 5.3″ 720p HD display, Adreno 305 GPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 8 MP rear cam and 1.1 MP front cam.

Sony has launched as usual 3G variant of Xperia T3 in India. Looking at many competitors in market like HTC Desire 816, Xiaomi Mi 3, Asus Zenfone 6; Sony has over priced Xperia T3 if we consider a Snapdragon 400 powered device.

Google made the announcement on Twitter today that Play Store to newer version 4.9.13 which brings material design UI to app, books, music, games, news section. Material Design UI was spotted on Play Store at Google I/O 2014 event and now it seems getting a update on Google Nexus devices. We have got new Google Play Store 4.9.13 version on our Xperia Z1 also.

LG G3 D855 V10e OTA update rolling – Brings Power Optimization, app enhancements

LG G3 D855 has been hit with its first OTA update after the launch globally. LG G3 users in Asia (like in Philippines), UK, Europe are getting the V10e update as OTA in two variants of 43.74 MB which brings power optimizations enhancement and 175.92 MB OTA update which brings enhancement in apps depending upon their location.

V10e update is still in seeding stage. Go to settings >About phone > system update to check for the latest update notification. V10e seems to more smooth than previous build as reported.

How to Root Xperia Z2 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware ?

Sony recently updated Xperia Z2 on 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware unexpectedly which brought changes like improved call voice quality, faster battery charging. Earlier root method was not available for 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware but now you can root your Xperia Z2 on 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware via rootkitXperia developed by @cubeundcube.

XDA user RyokoN mentions that above mentioned root tool kit uses two exploits i.e. ‘master key exploit‘ (bug 9950697) and CVE-2013-6282 on an older version but now it uses CVE-2014-3153 (towelroot exploit).

Confirmed devices working on this kit are Xperia Z2 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware, Xperia Z1 14.3.B.0.288, Xperia SP 12.1.A.1.205 etc.

Sony is planning to launch some new low end handsets at IFA Berlin 2014 event, it seems. Two new handsets Sony D2202 and Sony D2212 models are spotted at Indonesian Postel which has leaked so many Sony Xperia models in past before the official launch. By looking at the model number both devices seem to be low end handsets.

Sony D2202 and Sony D2212 model can be the same model of one device. If you look at model configuration they lie in between Xperia E1 and Xperia M2. Seeing Sony’s trend of following numbers in smartphone naming, we may see Xperia L or Xperia J successor in near future.

Sony is rolling a minor update in form of 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware on Xperia Z2 D6503 LTE. 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware keeps Xperia Z2 on Android 4.4.2 only ( Android 4.4.4 update is still missing ), confirmed rolling via PC Companion in regions like Russia, Iran, Korea.

No major changes spotted in this 17.1.2.A.0.314 firmware update, it seems a security patch fixing update as Towel Root exploit fails to root this firmware for the time being. Connect your device to PC Companion and look for an update notification to update.

Xperia C3 Dual S55T images spotted at China’s TENAA – Network License Passed

Sony recently unveiled Xperia C3 as the first true selfie smartphone and promised that it will be coming in August this year. Sony said mint colored Xperia C3 will be exclusive to China only and now it seems dual variant of Xperia C3 will hit China. Xperia C3 Dual S55t images are spotted at China’s TENNA where its network license for 4G LTE passed with bands 1900/1800/900 MHz (B34) / 1900 (B39) MHz, GSM (B41) / 2300 (B40) / 1900 (B39) MHz, TD-SCDMA 2000 TD-LTE 2500 along with FDD-LTE/W-CDMA international roaming.

Xperia C3 Dual features 5.5″ 720p HD screen display with Triluminos Mobile Bravia Engine 2 packed in 7.6mm light weight 150 (149.7) grams frame, Snapdragon S400 MSM8926 1.2 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, Adreno 305 GPU, 8 MP rear cam, 8 GB internal memory with 32 GB external SD card slot and android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Xperia T2 Ultra 19.1.A.0.473 firmware Android 4.4.2 KitKat rolling, T2 Ultra Dual as 19.1.C.0.116 firmware

Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now rolling for Xperia T2 Ultra as 19.1.A.0.473 firmware and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual as 19.1.C.0.116 firmware. Android 4.4.2 is still in seeding stage ( No Android 4.4.4 for the time being ), confirmed in India region for Xperia T2 Ultra on PC Companion.

Sony has posted the info on Sony blog about the update and confirms Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 are in line to get Android 4.4.2 KitKat update next. Android 4.4.2 update brings compatibility with SmartBand SWR10 and Lifelog app, updated Sony Media apps, new UI for Sony PlayStation 4 app, tweaked status and notifications bar with performance enhancement and UI as per Google KitKat update.
