Alleged Xperia Honami/Xperia Z1 Benchmark scores 30625 appears – Snapdragon 800 Confirmed

Just after day XDA Developer DooMLoRD tweeted saying that “Xperia Honami might be named as Xperia Z1 ( Z One ) instead of Xperia i1″, it seems that alleged benchmark of Xperia Hoanmi has appeared.

Alleged Xperia Z1 Benchmark scores 30625 – Snapdragon 800 Confirmed

In an alleged AnTuTu leak with a Chinese device named as “L39h” assumed to be Chinese version of Xperia Honami ( Xperia Z1 ) running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Snapdragon 800, 2.3 GHz Quad-core Krait 400 CPU.

Alleged Xperia Z1 Benchmark scores 30625 appears - Snapdragon 800 Confirmed

Xperia Honami aka Xperia Z1 speculations

Well it is certain that this benchmark has been taken on some initial firmware build, may be 14.1.G.1.493 firmware which was listed 5 days ago on PTCRB but today we spotted this 14.1.G.1.493 firmware has been removed from PTCRB site and now both Xperia Honami C6903/C6906 versions are missing from PTCRB listing.

It seems that as firmware improves this AnTuTu score of Xperia Z1 benchmark will improve and we expect it to atleast cross the 33K mark of Xperia Z Ultra Benchmark, as it scored 33099.

AnTuTu score has risen up to 33099 in 14.1.B.0.471 firmware update from 30233 in previous 14.1.B.0.461 firmware version

Xperia Honami aka Xperia Z1 is expected to feature 20.7 MP camera with 1/2.3″ sensor with G-Lens as seen in clear pics till now and 4k*2k UHD video capture / playback. Well it is expected that soon on 4 Sept. at IFA Event in Berlin we will see the official launch of Xperia Honami whose real name is still speculated…

Let us know how far these alleged Xperia Z1 Benchmark score excite you…

Thanks Robert 🙂

PTCRB REMOVES Listing of Xperia Honami C6903/C6906 14.1.G.1.493 firmware – Is Xperia Honami coming ?

5 days ago Xperia Honami C6903/C6906 appeared on PTCRB as first 14.1.G.1.493 firmware build was listed for it. It was the first time when a firmware build was certified even before the official launch of the device. Xperia Honami is still a rumor.

PTCRB REMOVES Listing of Xperia Honami C6903/C6906 14.1.G.1.493 firmware

Just now we spotted that PTCRB has removed the listing of Xperia Honami C6903/C6906 14.1.G.1.493 firmware from it’s site and the pages where previously firmware listed showing an error “You do not have permissions to view this page”. Check below the previous 14.1.G.1.493 firmware listing and new one.

OLD 14.1.G.1.493 firmware listing PTCRB Certified first Xperia Honami C6903 C6906 14.1.G.1.493 firmware Now the below Warning is listed on the same link…

PTCRB REMOVES Listing of Xperia Honami C6903,C6906 14.1.G.1.493 firmware - Is Xperia Honami coming Yesterday XDA Developer DooMLoRD tweeted that Xperia Honami might be named as Xperia Z1 ( Z One ), well it is sure that Xperia Honami is on the cards and soon we will see its official launch…It looks a DooMLoRD’s tweet triggered something and with the removal of Xperia Honami listing, surely something is cooking up.

But what this predicts ? PTCRB removing the listing of Xperia Honami firmware…Is it because, 14.1.G.1.493 firmware was listed even before the launch of phone or there is another reason behind this…Existemce of Xperia Honami still remains a mystery 🙂 What do you think on this…

[ via PTCRB ( OLD ) listing now showing Error ]

Xperia Honami might be named as Xperia Z1 ( Z One ) instead of i1 – Rumor

Xperia Honami which has been in rumor mill from so many days has been struck with another interesting rumor now with its name. Xperia Honami is rumored to feature 2.2/2.3Ghz Snapdragon 800 chipset with 20.7 MP camera with 1/2.3″ sensor with G-Lens.

Xperia Honami might come as Xperia Z1 ( Z one ) – rumor

Code named as Xperia Honami is about to come as “Xperia i1” but just now renowned XDA developer, DooMLoRD ( mainly for Xperia work ) has tweeted saying that “Heard an interesting rumor… Xperia Honami might be called Z1 (Z One)  :-)”

Xperia Z One name seems Sony is all set to follow the already established Xperia Z series, a trend already used by Samsung in Galaxy series.

2 days back we saw a series of photographs showing white Xperia Honami with iPhone and Xperia Z.

It is expected that at IFA event at Berlin on 4 Sept, Xperia Honami may be unveiled. Well a few weeks more and soon we will come to know how true all Xperia Honami rumors are.

What do you think, which sounds more better Xperia i1 or Xperia Z1, to us Xperia Z1 sounds more cool…

Sony’s latest Xperia Z Ultra features whooping 6.4 inch full HD 1080p “Triluminos Display” screen with 342 ppi pixel density which is best yet seen in any Xperia smartphone. Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case – Ultra Thin Rubberized – Review

Continuing our review streak, today we got our hands on Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case – Ultra Thin Rubberized. We love our Xperia Z a lot so we keep on trying different type of cases for it. Back Cover is the most common type of protective case which every smartphone user prefers over other cases like flip covers.

BhavTav sent us this Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case, which we will today review. It costs Rs 450 and ships free all over India.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case – Review

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case was sent to us in a very loose packing, even the cover pack inside was not sealed properly though the product was in good condition. When compared to the package covering that RoxFit and Noreve sent to us, package covering was not at all good from BhavTav.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case

Xperia Z fits completely in this Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case, as it has perfect dimension of 140x72x10 mm which completely covers Xperia Z which has 139 x 71 x 7.9 mm dimensions.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case - Back Side

Xperia Z weighs around 146 grams and weight of this Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case is around 15-20 grams which seemed very suitable to us.

Accessibility

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case has openings at proper places where they should be, except you can’t open the SIM card slot and SD card slot while the case in on. It may be because there is no need of using those ports very frequently, rest all other ports are very well accessible. Flaps on USB charging port and earphone jack port are easy to open while wearing case.

Connectivity in Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case

We had a bit difficult in putting the phone in charging dock while wearing back cover.

Perfect opening for camera and secondary microphone is given in the case.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case - Camera Opening

Speaker grill have their enough space in the case.

Power button and volume rocker buttons are easily accessible.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case - Power button opening

Durability

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case is a tough case made up of  Ultra Thin Rubberized material. A lot flexible yet tough and has a very smooth finish on back which according to us gives a bit slippery touch.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case - Side Profile

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case is washable, you can clean it with a piece of cloth, no finger print impressions on its back while holding it.

Xperia Z Back Cover Hard Case - Top view

Pros

  • Tough case made of Ultra Thin Rubberized material.
  • All ports are easily accessible.
  • Very Light weight.
  • Smooth finish.
  • Perfect dimension.

Cons

  • Back side gives a bit slippery touch.
  • While removing it you may get scratches on side of your Xperia Z.

Though we think the above mentioned cons are present in every case, so they must be ignored while buying it.

Thanks to BhavTav for sending us Xperia Z Back cover hard case for review.

Well we are still using the above back case on our Xperia Z and we like it, recommended product for any Xperia Z user…

Sony has already confirmed that Xperia SP will be getting Android 4.3 update but Android 4.2.2 is still missing, will it be getting directly android 4.3 update or a new android 4.2.2 update is coming…Well it still remains a mystery.

What do you think, will there be any android 4.2.2 for Xperia SP or not ?

Xperia SP Heats Up Goes dead – Won’t Turn On or Charge – SOLUTION

Xperia SP, the wonderful phone launched by Sony has gained world-wide appreciation. It is powered with 1.7 Ghz. dual-core Snapdragon S4 pro chipset packed with Adreno 320 GPU. Xperia SP comes with wealthy 2370 mAh non-removable battery which means that to do hard reset, we need an alternative way to switch it off.

Xperia Z also has a non-removable battery with a non-removable back casing, so in order to do a hard reset on it, one need to press and hold down “power+volume up” together for 3-5 seconds then phone vibrates, switched off and restarts. Well unfortunately the same method doesn’t work on Xperia SP.

[ UPDATE – 12 Feb 2014 ]

Xperia SP Frame Bent Issue appeared like Xperia Z1 – Poor Build Quality ?

Let’s come to main issue of this article.

Xperia SP Heats Up Goes dead – Won’t Turn On or Charge

Many Xperia SP users have complained that their handset heats up to extreme sometimes during charging and then remain hot for a while more than 30+ minutes. Well that’s terrible.

So What Actually Happened with us ?

At 13% battery, we put our Xperia SP on charging and when we came back after half and hour, we found our Xperia SP was very hot :/ We removed the charger and kept the phone aside. Even after 30 minutes phone didn’t cool down and the golden light in the illumination bar didn’t shut, it was lighted through out that period.

Xperia SP Won’t Turn or Charge

We were not able to get back to display screen even after pressing the power button on our Xperia SP, neither it was charging not it was turning on. For a moment we were afraid, that what happened. Phone was in on stage, it was not switched off.

Problem Solution

We thought of re-installing the firmware on our Xperia SP 12.0.A.1.257 firmware again by SUS, but before doing that we thought of doing a hard reset so that it can be switched off and restarted.

So how did we do that ?Remember “Pressing power + Volume UP” button combination don’t work in Xperia SP.

  • Remove the back cover of Xperia SP and look for a small yellow dot on mid bottom with “OFF” written below it. Check the image below.

Xperia SP Heats Up Goes dead - Won't Turn On or Charge - SOLUTION

  • Now “Press & Hold Down the OFF Button, using a tip of pen or any other pointed object for around 10 seconds”. Phones vibrates and will be switched off automatically. Check image below.

P.S. Don’t use very sharp objects as it may damage the OFF Button.

How to Turn On Xperia SP after it goes dead because of heating - won't charge

  • Now phone restarts.

After restarting we found that our Xperia SP got back to normal temperature and everything was fine.  🙂 We were able to charge our Xperia SP again, device was cool.

Conclusion

Main issue is that why Xperia SP is getting this issue ? Why Phones heats up suddenly without doing nothing ? Why doesn’t it turns on ? Why doesn’t it charge ??? Many users are coming up with this issue on Sony Mobile Forums even…no proper verdict has been given by support staff on this issue.

Are these all firmware bugs or some another issue…

Please report if you have also faced same situation on your Xperia SP, report below with your problem…Comment we will get back to you soon may be with a solution…
