Sony Software App has been updated to newer 3.1.2.A.0.10 version over the older 3.1.2.A.0.9 version. No new major changes spotted except for usual bugs fixing and performance enhancement in the app.

Sony Software update app is majorly used to update Xperia smartphone to new firmware updates whenever available, via OTA.

Sony stock weather widget in transparent mode ported

Sony’s stock weather widget has been ported to feature in a transparent mode. You need rooted Xperia device with recovery installed running stock Sony Lollipop or Marshmallow ROM to flash the port.

If stock weather widget is already active on your home screen, remove it first. Download the flashable zip file and flash it in recovery. Add the weather widget again on home screen.

Sony Marshmallow concept software MMB29X.Z1.3582 update reintroduces FM-Radio App

New Android Marshmallow concept firmware MMB29X.Z1.3582 has been released for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact which reintroduces FM-Radio app again.

Concept software MMB29X.Z1.3582 has changed the battery icon and it is now in landscape mode. It also features Google’s April Security Patch fix.

Sony launched Xperia X Performance (SOV33) on au by KDDI in Japan

Sony Mobile Japan has introduced Xperia X Performance (SOV33) on au by KDDI in Japan today. It is expected to hit Japanese markets in mid-June 2016 this year.

It features similar specifications like global variant of Xperia Performance except a lower battery size i.e. 2570 mAh. Sony has also introduced Full Window Style Cover SCR56, priced at 5480 Yen ($50) (excluding taxes), Flip Style Cover SBC58, priced at 4480 Yen ($41) (excluding taxes), Style Cover SBC30, priced at 3480 Yen ($31) (excluding taxes) and Style Cover SBC28, priced at 2480 Yen ($22) (excluding taxes).

Sony Xperia Agent Hands-on Video

Sony introduced its concept Xperia Agent along with its Xperia “X” series smartphone in Feb end this year at MWC 2016 and it is truly an amazing gadget. It is powered by Sony’s voice technology which will respond to number of commands given by the user and has in-built camera and projector display for projecting content onto surfaces.

Team at GSMArena recently got to visit Sony HQ and play with this tiny little robot Sony Xperia Agent. As per them, Sony is looking forward to make this available in the market but is still working on its design and other important parameters.

Projected display in the video is of 1366 x 768 px. resolution, not very great though but improving it is a challenge for the development team.

Sony Xperia C6 Ultra Video & 3D render Pics Leaked

A few days back we shared specifications of a Xperia device with 21 MP rear cam and 16 MP front cam with LED flash, now it seems more renders of that device have been leaked.

Device is alleged as Xperia C6 Ultra but it has also been named as Xperia X Ultra by some websites. As you will notice it features front cam with LED flash so going with trends it might be aligned with Xperia C series.

It is expected to feature full HD 6″ display powered by a MediaTek MT6755 processor 1.9 GHz octa-core processor, Mali-T860 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with expandable option.

Sony Clock 20.1.A.1.9 app update & Black Clock Widget

Sony Clock new app version 20.1.A.1.9 is available for installing on Xperia devices (previous version 20.1.A.0.9). New version is taken from Sony Xperia X firmware.

Sony used to have a black clock widget in KitKat firmware but it was removed in Lollipop and Marshmallow firmware, if you are looking for same, it has been ported for Xperia devices.

Official Sony Xperia X System UI & Lockscreen Port available

Sony Xperia “X” series sports some new features in terms of UI as compared to present Marshmallow Xperia UI. Well a great news that official Xperia X System UI & lockscreen has now been ported on other Xperia devices.

It is working on official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow running on Xperia Z2, Z3, and Z5 series (not working on concept or beta ROM). It should work on Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact (including Dual SIM Variant) and for Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium, and Z5 Compact.

Official Xperia X System UI & Lockscreen Port

You must have root access and deodexed ROM to use this port. It features new Xperia X Lockscreen and new Marshmallow battery icon.

NOTE: Backup your current ROM before applying this port.

Sony Mobile launched its latest Xperia “X” series smartphones recently and now it seems new smartphones from Sony are in production house exclusively. Two MediaTek Chipset powered Sony devices viz. Sony F3311 & Sony F3216 specifications were leaked on GFXBench benchmark a few days back.

Octa Core and Quad Core MediaTek SoC powered Xperia series are in line, out of which one can be a successor to Xperia C series “selfie smartphone range”.
