Xperia Z2, Z2 Tablet Lollipop update rolling now globally

Earlier in mid-March Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Xperia “Z3” and Xperia “Z2” series but the update was limited to only Nordics and Baltic regions. As per the latest announcement made by Sony Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is now rolling globally for Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Just now, Xperia Z2 D6502/L50w has got Android 5.0.2 Lollipop (23.1.A.0.690 firmware) update in regions Vietnam, Singapore, Ukraine, Thailand, MENA Arabic, Generic LAM, USA, India. Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP521 users are reporting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update in Saudi Arabia and Thailand now.

Sony is finally done with rolling first script of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet in Baltic and Nordic regions for the LTE variants. While many regions and HSPA+ variants of the device has not got the update yet, we are still waiting for the second script of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update to roll out quickly.

Meanwhile, if you have updated your Xperia Z2 D6503 on Lollipop 23.1.A.0.690 firmware and looking for the root, then now a method to access root on 23.1.A.0.690 firmware is available.

To get root on 23.1.A.0.690 firmware, you must have already custom recovery installed on your Xperia Z2 running Android 4.4 KitKat.

Today Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet & Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and yesterday we saw the same update rolling on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact in form of 23.1.A.0.690 firmware build.

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is confirmed first in Baltic and Nordic regions, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway. Other regions of the world haven’t reported the update yet.

Sony has officially rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop today on Xperia “Z2” series and now both Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet (Wi-Fi/LTE) are on Android 5.0.2 version. A day before Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 update on Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is so far confirmed in Baltics and Nodric regions, Sweden, Norway and Denmark and Sony mentions it as “first script” of Lollipop update. Update is confirmed on both LTE and Wi-Fi varaints of Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Yesterday Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact in form of 23.1.A.0.690 firmware build and now Android 5.0.2 is officially rolling on Xperia Z2 also. Sony has updated the same 23.1.A.0.690 firmware build on Xperia Z2 also.

Android 5.0.2 update on Xperia Z2 is confirmed rolling in Nordics & Baltic regions, specifically confirmed in Sweden, Norway, Denmark. It features old 3.4.0 Linux kernel. Update is confirmed on Xperia Z2 LTE D6503 variants, not seen on HSPA+ D6502 variants yet.

Sony has officially rolled Android 5.0.2 update on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact today in form of 23.1.A.0.690 firmware, same 23.1.A.0.690 firmware build is rolled on both devices. Update is confirmed in Nordics and Baltics regions as mentioned by Sony and has already been seen in Norway, Denmark, Sweden.

23.1.A.0.690 firmware brings Android 5.0.2 on Xperia Z3 Compact, with 3.4.0 kernel and is now available via PC Companion for download, no OTA seen yet. Sony will update the other Xperia “Z” series handsets after two weeks.

Xperia Z3 Android 5.0.2 23.1.A.0.690 firmware is now being reported in Nordic regions, Norway, Denmark, Sweden as reported by many users. 23.1.A.0.690 firmware follows the same old 3.4.0 Kernel which was also spotted on 23.1.A.0.632 firmware running on Xperia Z3 at MWC 2015.
