Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow 23.5.A.0.575 firmware has been released for Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 both. This is a minor security patch update only. Update is available over OTA.

23.5.A.0.575 firmware didn’t bring STAMINA Mode back which was removed in initial Marshmallow update but it was seen in latest beta update. All variants of Xperia Z2 have got this update.

Sony Mobile has released a new 23.5.A.0.575 firmware update for both Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2. 23.5.A.0.575 firmware update is a minor bugs fixing update over 23.5.A.0.570 firmware.

23.5.A.0.575 firmware update is confirmed on all variants of Xperia Z3. Update is available via OTA as well as via Xperia Companion/Bridge software.

How to Enable Multi-Window mode on Xperia phone running Marshmallow

Earlier when Google announced Android M at Google I/O 2015, multi-window mode was spotted in the earlier developer preview images released which was not seen in the final release of Android Marshmallow on devices.

It looks like a simple tweak in the build.prop file of your Xperia smartphone running Android 6.0 Marshmallow will enable Multi-Window mode on your device.

How to Enable Multi-Window mode on Xperia phone

Before proceeding make sure your Xperia device is running Android 6.0+ Marshmallow and is rooted.

Do make a backup of your current build.prop file.

Using any root file manager navigate to system/build.prop
Find “ro.build.type” (it must be written as re.build.type=user)
Replace the “user” to “userdebug“
Save and reboot
After rebooting, go to developer settings > drawing category and then “Enable Multi-Window”.

Now you can use multi-window feature on your Xperia device.

Xperia Z4 402SO gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow 32.1.D.0.284 firmware update from SoftBank

Xperia Z4 402SO has got Android 6.0 Marshmallow 32.1.D.0.284 firmware update in Japan from SoftBank carrier. Sony has already released Android 6.0 and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware update on Xperia Z5, Z3 and Z2 series.

Sony Mobile posted open source archives for 32.1.D.0.284 firmware recently and now update has been successfully confirmed on Xperia Z4 402SO.

Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium in Japan on NTT DoCoMo carrier are now getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow update officially.

Xperia Z5 SO-01H, Xperia Z5 Compact SO-02H, and Xperia Z5 premium SO-03H have been confirmed getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow 32.1.F.0.43 firmware.

A few days back Sony Mobile confirmed officially that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be available for the following devices viz. Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, and Xperia C4.

Now an unofficial timeline has come for ETA of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Xperia devices. It is expected to roll out next month i.e. January 2016 as per tech journalist Ricciolo.

Earlier he also tweeted that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will improve the battery saving Stamina Mode feature on Xperia devices.

As per an XDA user gbil, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Xperia Z5 Premium is in testing and will follow 32.1.A.0.X firmware build (32.1.A.0.XSony/E6853/E6853:6.0/32.1.A.0.X).

Sony Mobile recently released Android 6.0 Marshmallow Concept build MDB08M.Z1.2153 which added Xperia Theme support for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact (only for beta testing users).

New Xperia Home 10.0.A.0.3 and Xperia Keyboard 7.0.A.0.14 app is spotted in the build MDB08M.Z1.2153, which has now been ported for Xperia handsets running Lollipop. You need rooted Xperia handset to install the below posted app. Try normal install or try to push in system/apps with correct permissions (steps here).

A few days back Sony rolled Android 6.0 Marshmallow Concept build for Xperia Z3 series smarpthone users and recently MRA58K.Z1.2085 concept build was released which added tap to wake up feature in the respective handset.

Xperia Home 10.0.A.0.2 app from Marshmallow Concept build (2099 from Xperia Z3) has been extracted and is available for install.

Sony came up with its “Concept for Android” program back in July and now Concept for Android: Marshmallow edition is available for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact users in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany.

This program is open to only first 10000 users in above mentioned regions who can show their interest by registering via Sony´s Concept for Android app.

Google has officially started rolling Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on Nexus handsets starting from today and Google Nexus 5X and 6P will be released with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
