Sony has updated its track recognizing app after a long time to newer 4.0.B.1.0 version which is a huge improvement over older 3.82.25 version. Sony TrackID 4.0.B.1.0 app update is available over Play Store only but we didn’t find the update on our Xperia Z1 ( as the app version varies with the device ).

Sony TrackID 4.0.B.1.0 app brings new UI, navigation menu bar which is drawn from left hand panel of window now. You can now sync and track all your history on any Xperia device after signing in via Facebook or Sony Entertainment Network account. You can look for the top charts in different regions of the world from the menu.

A new Sony Social Smart camera app add on “Time Lapse” is now available at Play Store for download on all Xperia devices running android 4.1.2+ versions. Time Lapse app is the first app on Play Store which supports 4K lapse video mode, exclusively for Xperia devices having rear cam resolution greater than 9 MP.

Time Lapse version 0.0.5 allows you to capture images at different frames, at different time to make a lapse video. Google has changed the keyboard layout to a material design color scheme including blue and white.

Google Android L keyboard port can be installed on any rooted device. You can use this keyboard besides your current keyboard. You get the new emoji icons, new color themes and more flexible and fluid keyboard. Gesture swiping input is working great. We tested this keyboard on our Xperia Z1.

A few days back we saw Sony Live on YouTube app making an appearance at Play Store but soon it was pulled by Sony. Sony Live on YouTube app allows you to broadcast your videos live on YouTube just like we have Social Love app to broadcast videos live on Facebook. Sony Live on YouTube app 01.00.12 version is again seen on Play Store and now users can download it.

For the moment Sony Live on YouTube app is exclusive for Xperia Z2 owners only, not available in Germany due to privacy reasons. You need a verified YouTube account to sign in and then you can broadcast any video. Make sure you don’t upload any video which violates privacy policy and copyrights of someone.

Sony has launched a new app named Action Camera Extension 1.00.12 which can be used to control various Sony camera wireless just like we have Sony smart camera app to control shutter of camera in Xperia devices and tablets. Sony is tagging it as their official camera shutter application for Sony SmartBand SWR10 and Sony SmartWatch 2.

You need to just pair the Action Camera Extension 1.00.12 app with your cam and you can control the shutter of your Sony cam within a range of 10 meters. When paired just get in the view of camera sensor and then tap on Sony SmartWatch 2 or Sony SmartBand SWR10 and you can take the pic with those accessories. Sony has rolled a SmartBand SWR10 1.4.0.392 app update which brings tablet support and user movement sensitivity for auto night mode. SmartBand SWR10 app is needed to configure your SmartBand SWR10 in Smart Connect app with LifeLog app from your paired device.

Sony Live on YouTube app launched for Xperia Z2 – Broadcast videos to YouTube

Sony has exclusively launched Live on YouTube app for Xperia Z2 on Play Store which allows you to broadcast your videos directly to YouTube. Earlier Sony launched Social Live app which allows users to broadcast videos on Facebook directly. Live on YouTube app is exclusive for Xperia Z2 for the time being and is powered by Sony Mobile and YouTube officially.

Live on YouTube app needs registered YouTube account to broadcast videos. The app is not available in Germany and other regions where YouTube is blocked. There is also a limit on what type of video content you can broadcast live. We are unable to download the Live on YouTube app on Xperia Z1 from Play Store, hopefully Sony will launch the app soon for other Xperia handsets also.

Sony Album 6.1.A.0.14 app update rolling

Yesterday we saw Sony rolling out Walkman 8.3.A.0.7 app update which is a minor performance enhancement and bug fixing update and now album app has also been updated to new 6.1.A.0.14 version from the old 6.0.A.0.26 version. Sony recently launched Album app with new updated UI which was seen running on Xperia Z2 at MWC 2014 event.

Album 6.1.A.0.14 app update brings PlayMemories Online video support which allows you to upload, play and browse videos besides performance enhancement and bug fixing. Sony rolled Walkman 8.3.A.0.2 app update a few days back which brought new UI to the app which we saw at MWC 2014 event, playing on Xperia Z2 exclusively. Many Xperia users complained about many bugs in Walkman app like low volume etc, fortunately Sony has acknowledged those bugs and released new Walkman 8.3.A.0.5 app update today.

Walkman 8.3.A.0.5 app update is rolled via OTA update, confirmed on devices Xperia Z1, Z Ultra Z2, Z, ZL, ZR, SP etc. Sony clearly mentioned in the changelog of Walkman 8.3.A.0.5 app update i.e. “We would like to apologies“! Sony has fixed all minor bugs reported by users as per them.
