Sony has updated its Sketch app to 6.0.A.0.5 version which brings material design UI look. Earlier today Sony updated Smart Connect app to 5.7.14.218 version, which brings support for Android 5.0, it seems Sony is now working on updating its media apps for Android 5.0 support.

Sony Sketch 6.0.A.0.5 app allows you to share your sketches and inviting others to try the app. It also brings usual bug fixes and performance enhancement. You need android 4.2 to install the app.

Are you still using Yahoo mail, if yes then this Smart Extension for Yahoo Mail would be great for you if you are also using Sony Smart accessories like Smart Watch 2. To use this app, you need to install Sony Smart Connect app on your device ( along with SW2 app ). This extension can be installed on android 4.0+ running devices.

Once Sony SW2 is paired with your device, extension gets automatically activated, check under Smart Connect app settings option. Compatibility with Sony SmartWatch 3 is unknown for the time being.

A new version of Xperia Home is now available in form of 7.0.A.1.7. Xperia Home 7.0.A.1.7 seems a bit more fast and responsive than previous version. This version is not available via OTA instead extracted out from latest Xperia 4.4.4 KitKat update ( Xperia Z2 Tablet ).

You need rooted Xperia handset running android 4.4 KitKat to install Xperia Home 7.0.A.1.7 version. It is not working on non rooted Xperia handsets. Either go for a manual installation or push in system/app folder ( set permissions as rw- r– r– and reboot ).

Sony Movies 8.0.A.0.6 app was updated recently over 8.0.A.0.4 version which brought support for Sony Movies Small app. In the Movies app, tap the “Movies Small App” icon in the player bar, to play videos in minimum size ex. when checking your social networks or browsing the web.

Sony Movies Small was released as an OTA update recently on selected Xperia handsets but now it is available for download and works great on rooted as well as non rooted Xperia handsets running android 4.2+. We tried it on our Xperia Z2 and Xperia SP and it works smoothly.

Sony’s Sketch app is now officially available on Play store as 5.0.A.0.2 version which was earlier only being updated via OTA through update center app. It is a major update in terms of build number if we compare from previous 2.0.A.1.7 version but no noticeable visual changes in terms of features are present.

You get notifications whenever new stickers are available, new color textures, new pencil and markers available, pan and zoom features in the sketch area, background changing feature. We got the update on our Xperia Z2. It works on android 4.2+ running Xperia devices.

Sony Music TrackID app has been updated to to newer version 4.0.B.7.0 from older 4.0.B.6.0 at Play Store which fixes the losing history bug as mentioned by Sony in the changelog. TrackID 4.0.B.7.0 update brings faster recognition speed, new UI, syncing feature of search history with Facebook and SEN account and support for Android Wear Sony SmartWatch 3 ( just like previous version )

TrackID 4.0.B.7.0 should work on all android device running android 4.1+ version, not sure about compatibility of this version for android 2.3 running Xperia devices.
