Xperia A4 SO-04G launched in Japan on NTT DoCoMo

NTT DoCoMo has unveiled its summer 2015 smartphones lineup today and three new Xperia devices i.e. Xperia Z4 SO-03G, Xperia Z4 Tablet SO-05G and Xperia A4 SO-03G are launched. Earlier there were rumors for Xperia Z4 Compact but Xperia SO-04G turned out to be Xperia A4 finally, Japan-specific upgraded variant of Xperia Z3 Compact.

Xperia A4 SO-04G will be available for purchase in Japan on NTT DoCoMo in mid-June 2015, to be available in 4 colors viz. white, black, blue and pink.

Xperia A4 SO-04G

Xperia A4 SO-04G is powered by Snapdragon 801 2.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with a 4.6″ 720p HD display, dimensions as 128 mm ×  66 mm ×  9.1mm weighing 129 grams.

Xperia A4 SO-04G has 2600 mAh embedded battery, 20.7 MP rear cam and 2.2 MP front cam and has IP65/IP68 water resistance certification.

As of now we have seen Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4 Tablet being launched in exclusive and global markets, but Xperia Z4 Compact is still in rumors.

For the time being Xperia Z4 and Xperia A4 are exclusive to the Japanese market only. We will keep you updated if Xperia Z4 hits global markets (though rumors say that Xperia Z4 might hit Verizon in USA).

Xperia Z4 Compact to be launched on 13 May for NTT DoCoMo in Japan?

Rumors are there that Xperia Z4 Compact SO-04G will be launched in Japan on 13 May at NTT DoCoMo summer model 2015 product launch event. As per the details, NTT DoCoMo is also likely to announce recently launched Xperia Z4 SO-03G and Xperia Z4 Tablet SO-05G also.

NTT DoCoMo has scheduled an event on 13 May where its summer models will be unveiled such as Fujitsu ARROWS series and new LG smartphones along with Sony Xperia models.

Xperia Z4 Compact coming soon?

A few days back an alleged pic from NTT DoCoMo schedule was leaked showing Xperia Z4 Compact‘s model name for Japan. As seen from the screenshot posted below, Xperia Z4 has been assigned SO-03G/SOV31 model number for NTT DoCoMo model.

If Xperia Z4 Compact is really going to be launched on 13 May then we can expect Xperia Z4 Compact to feature the same specifications like Xperia Z4 (Check  full specifications of Xperia Z4 here) either with a 4.6″ screen or 4.7″ screen display. Sony used 4.6″ display on

Sony used 4.6″ display on Xperia Z3 Compact while a 4.3″ display on Xperia Z1 Compact. As per the details, Xperia Z4 is supposed to be limited only to Japan and so the Xperia Z4 Compact. Sony may launch Xperia Z3+ as a global variant for Xperia Z4.

Xperia Z4 Compact SO-04G coming to NTT DoCoMo

It has only been a few days for Xperia Z4 to mark its appearance in Japan officially and now rumors for Xperia Z4 Compact has started floating around. Yesterday some new Xperia models i.e. Sony E5803, Sony E5633, Sony E6683, Sony E6833 got certified at Indonesian Postel site, two of them have been assumed as Xperia Z4 Compact and Xperia Z4 Ultra.

Today an alleged screenshot from NTT DoCoMo’s summer lineup document revealed that Xperia Z4 Compact might be coming to Japan soon with model number SO-04G.

As seen from the screenshot, Xperia Z4 has been assigned SO-03G/SOV31 model number for NTT DoCoMo model.

It is in news that Sony will be launching a different flagship for year 2015 in May and Xperia Z4 will be exclusively available in Japan only.

Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair”, Xperia Z2 SO-03F brochure and pics leaked

Xperia SO-04F Altair which was recently spotted at FCC and speculated as Xperia Z2 Compact has now popped up again with solid proof of its existence. Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair” and Xperia Z2 SO-03F brochure and pics have been leaked online, both being the handsets for Japan only ( preferably for NTT DoCoMo ).

Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair” is spotted in new color range from Sony this time viz. Gray Black, Lavender, Orange and White and specifications very much similar to Xperia Z1 Compact / Xperia Z1F which is refraining us to call it new Xperia Z2F handset. Leaked brochure of Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair” also shows the different parts of the handset.

Xperia Z2 SO-03F is also spotted in the leaked brochures of NTT DoCoMo which clearly indicates that soon Japanese version of Xperia Z2 will make its appearance in market. Interesting no IR blaster is spotted this time which is a flagship characteristic of all Xperia handsets launched in Japan.

Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) is dubbed as Sony Xperia Z1 Mini was launched yesterday on NTT DoCoMo during its 2013-2014 winter spring models launch event in Japan. We also saw Xperia Z1 SO-01F being launched, the Japanese version of global Xperia Z1 which has got some extra features like more internal memory and IR Blaster.

No exact date is available right now on the availability of Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) in market whether it will see an international release or not. Speculations are there that it may be available in late December.

Just now the rumored Xperia A device has been confirmed by FCC that it is under approval. It’s neither a leak nor an official release.

Full manual of Xperia A SO-04E Dogo can be seen on FCC site which has somewhat revealed its specifications and photos. Xperia A SO-04E Dogo  is a lot similar to Xperia Z and Xperia ZL in terms of features. When looked from sideways it seems similar to Xperia Z with the location of power button on the same side as in Xperia Z.

  • 5 inch screen.
  • Removable 2300 mAh battery, which is missing from both Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. Images show that Xperia A SO-04E Dogo will be powered by Sony BA950 battery.
  • Internal storage is limited to 16 GB with extended SD card ( supporting SD Card memory details not out yet.
  • 2 GB RAM.
  • Dimensions of Xperia Z SO-04E Dogo are as 139 x 71 x 7.9mm which is similar to as Xperia Z weighing 146 grams same as Xperia Z.
  • LTE Powered.
  • Micro SIM usage.

Xperia A SO-04E Dogo  Camera Details

Rear 13 MP cam with Exmor RS and 2.2MP front cam. You can set cam at 13 MP with image resolution as 4128×3096 and to 12 MP with image resolution as 3920×2940, 4:3 aspect ratio of image size. HDR, Superior Auto mode available.

Same set of earphones are seen as Sony dispatched with Xperia S and Xperia SL, we can see Sony Ericsson logo on them.

No Details about the processor of Xperia A SO-04E Dogo, it is speculated that it may come with Snapdragon-600 chipset but nothing can be said at this moment. Also the android version in the phone isn’t specified which still remains a mystery till we find out this. When seen in the Xperia A SO-04E Dogo user manual guide, Android Jelly Bean version can been seen, same as Xperia Z android 4.1.2 but nothing is said officially about android version yet.

On NTT DoCoMo site we can see that on 15th May 2013 they are releasing their new line up of smartphones for this summer season and we may see Xperia A SO-04E Dogo to be launched at that same time only.
