Mysterious Sony device running Snapdragon 810, Android 5.0.2 benchmarked

Mysterious Sony device with code name “Sony 78YB16RC98PW62B1” running Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 Octa Core chipset has been benchmarked on GeekBench exclusively. It is spotted running Android 5.0.2 OS. A few days back Qualcomm released a statement that future Sony Xperia device of 2015 will have Snapdragon 810 SoC so is this mysterious device Xperia Z4 ? ( can’t be said at this moment ).

Sony 78YB16RC98PW62B1 device is also seen featuring a 3 GB RAM. At Handset Detection user agent, this device was seen as : Mozilla / 5.0 (Linux; Android 5.0; 78YB16RC98PW62B1 Build / 28.0.A.0.324) AppleWebKit / 537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome / 39.0.2171.93 Mobile Safari / 537.36 running 28.0.A.X.XXX firmware.

It is very clear that Snapdragon 810 SoC is associated with some high end device and most probably the next Sony Xperia flagship device.

Specifications of Xperia Z4, Z4 Compact, Z4 Ultra, Z4 Tablet rumored

A few days back Xperia Z4 specifications were rumored with the fact that Sony may maintain one flagship device per year and now a few more Xperia “Z4” series device’s existence have been rumored. Alleged specifications of Xperia Z4 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z4 Ultra were spotted today online via the same source which posted Xperia Z4 specifications last time.

Xperia Z4 series is expected from Sony seeing the previous lineup but will they feature the same specifications as posted below is a matter of question right now. It can’t be guaranteed that below posted specifications are true or false so take it with a pinch of salt for the time being. Let’s see what Sony is holding for new Xperia Z4 series.

Xperia Z4 Specifications – Rumored

Earlier rumored specifications of Xperia Z4 said that it may feature 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 64-bit chipset Octa-core processor 2.8 GHz, Adreno 430, 4 GB RAM, 20.7 MP rear cam with curved Exmor RS CMOS imaging sensor. and 32 GB internal storage.

While new set of rumored specifications says Sony may drop magnetic charging port and will be adopting Qi wireless charging in upcoming Xperia Z4. IP68 water resistant rated with micro USB port without flaps.

Xperia Z4 Compact Specifications – Rumored

Xperia Z4 Compact will see FHD 1080p resolution this time with 4.6″ display. It is expected to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 64-bit chipset Octa-core processor 2.8 GHz just like Xperia Z4 ( rumored ).

Xperia Z4 Tablet Specifications – Rumored

Sony is expected to launch Xperia Z4 Tablet at the same time when Xperia Z4 will be unveiled. It will be again 10.1″ but a QHD Display. It is believed that Sony is also testing 2840 x 2160 px display but the final retail device is expected to come with QHD display only rather than ( 4K ). It is expected to sport the same design as Xperia Z3 Compact but with much thinner bezels as compared to Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Stereo speakers will be present and it is expected to come as one of the thinnest and light 10″ tablet. It is rumored to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 64-bit chipset Octa-core processor 2.8 GHz, 32 GB internal storage, 4 GB RAM, 13 MP rear cam and 8 MP front cam.

Xperia Z4 Ultra Specifications – Rumored

After a long time Xperia Z Ultra’s successor is reported. Xperia Z4 Ultra is expected to come with 6.4″ display with QHD resolituon or 4K resolution. Not much is available on Xperia Z4 Ultra for the time being.

Sony Lue Z windows phone is a Fake device, Evleaks says

Earlier today serial leakster @evleaks posted a pic of Xperia device named Sony Lue Z which was assumed as Sony’s upcoming windows device as seen from the pic where pox of Sony Lue Z was seen and a snapshot of Sony Lue Z with Windows 8.1 running.

Though @evleaks confirmed that tip came from an unknown tipster so take it with a pinch of salt well now confirmation has come that Sony Lue Z doesn’t exist.

@evleaks have confirmed saying “Pretty convinced that Sony is fake now, after consulting numerous people, so I pulled it down. Sorry if it got your hopes up” Sony Lue Z is fake device for the time being. Rumors came a few months back that Sony will be launching a Windows based device well it seems hopes are not so good for now.

Sony Windows phone coming this summer July 2014, Rumors

Sony making a Windows phone officially, this news has always been in rumors but it seems that it is about to come true now.  Tom Warren, Senior Editor The Verge has just tweeted about GDR updates for Windows phone 8.1, meanwhile he also tweeted that Sony Windows phone might be coming this summer July 2014 with new GDR updates for Windows phone from Microsoft.

Though nothing is confirmed for the time being Sony manufacturing a Windows phone though they made a prototype handset a long time back with code name “Julie” which never saw release unfortunately.

A few days back we saw that Pierre Perron, head Sony Mobile Europe quoting…

“We are continuing our discussions with other partners, including Microsoft, as part of our partnership with this company on the broader Sony spectrum.”

It would be great to see Sony manufacturing a Windows phone handset along with Android. Sony has become the 2nd largest smartphone brand in India replacing Apple from second spot as per the data released by IDC. Sony Windows phone can improve their brand value more in regional as well as Global market as for the time being Windows phone market is mainly covered by Nokia only.

Is Xperia Z2 Ultra coming with Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet at MWC 2014 ?

A few days back we saw leaked press render pics of Xperia Z2 Tablet which confirmed the commercial name of Sony SGP521 tablet and a few more specifications, well all was allegedly leaked by @GadgetLeaks. Just now a quite amazing tweet has come up from their side mentioning “Expect an Xperia Z2 Ultra and Xperia Z2 alongside Xperia Tablet Z2.”

@GadgetLeaks tweeted about Xperia Z2 Ultra, will it be coming at MWC 2014 event or at some other event; no info regarding that. It is now almost confirmed that Sony will definitely unveil Sony D6503 Sirius ( aka Xperia Z2 ) and Xperia Z2 Tablet but chances of Xperia Z2 Ultra at MWC is 50-50% now 😛

Xperia Z Ultra Wi-Fi only tablet was recently launched in Japan and Xperia Z Ultra phone was launched in mid year 2013, so it may happen Sony will bring up a successor of Xperia Z Ultra in form of Xperia Z2 Ultra.

Sony will also unveil its latest Xperia KitKat UI at MWC on all handsets launched with “Z2” tag hopefully and then we can expect KitKat update to come on other handsets.

Nexus 8 Tablet Coming at end of April from Google-Asus Rumors

New rumors have started coming for Google Nexus 8 Tablet now as Google is working on it now due to low Nexus 7 2013 tablet sales world wide. Google Nexus 8 Tablet manufactured by ASUS due to launch at end of April 2014, as per latest article on DigiTimes quotes. As per sources Google is planning to ship initially 2 Million Nexus 8 Tablet units from launch.

As per reports sales of Nexus 7 2013 tablets were a bit low as 3 Million units sold till Dec 2013 due to increasing competition in 7 inch display devices. Many 5-6 inch display devices from Sony, Samsung, LG have come up recently and 6.4″ Xperia Z Ultra Tablet and Samsung’s Note devices generation are competitive devices in the same range.

To avoid price and screen size competition, Google is planning to launch Nexus 8 Tablet with 8 inch screen display, as there are not much devices in same range except Apple’s iPad Mini which has around 7.9 inch screen size.

If rumors come true we may see soon a new GoogleNexus 8 Tablet manufactured again by ASUS and hope so with calling facility this time and a higher Snapdragon SoC. Neither the existence of Nexus 8 Tablet nor its release date is confirmed for the time being, take the news with a pinch of salt.

Snapdragon SoC Wikipedia page lists Xperia Z2 Sirius under Snapdragon 805 and 800 chipsets

If you remember a few days back we saw @Evleaks reporting that a 5.2″ device named Sony Sirius with Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC processor. Well a lot speculation is going on after the Sony Sirius, it may be the Sony’ new flagship device “Xperia Z2” but is it ? Sony recently reported that Xperia Z1 will remain flagship in 2014 for sometime, but for how long ?

As per @Evleaks, Sony Sirius may debut in MWC2014 event exclusively. Just now we spotted that Snapdragon SoC Wikipedia page has listed Sony Sirius under the name Xperia Z2 in two categories of SoC i.e. Snapdragon 800 MSM8974-AB and Snapdragon 805 MSM8084.

Well if Sony Sirius or Xperia Z2 comes with Snapdragon 805 SoC, then it will be one of the the first device to get launch with it. It supports Adreno 420 GPU with 2.5 GHz quad core processor, Snapdragon’s SoC latest build.

It is still not very clear that is Sony Sirius really Xperia Z2, as information found on Snapdragon SoC Wikipedia page can’t be taken as so sure now for the time being as they have listed in under two categories which arises the doubts.

5.2″ inch Sony “Sirius” 2014 flagship and Sony “Castor” for MWC Debut – Evleaks reports

It has only been 24 hours since we saw Sony officially launching Xperia Z1 Compact ( Xperia Z1C ), the miniature version of Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z1s LTE version for T-Mobile USA. Unfortunately as already mentioned by Sony no flagship device is introduced, so what’s next flagship device from Sony Mobiles.

As Snapdragon 805 SoC has already been introduced by Snapdragon so will new flagship device gonna featuring it ? Well hopefully the answer is no for now. Just now Twitter handle of @evleaks have tweeted about Sony’s 2014 flagship device, a 5.2″ Sony “Sirius” and new tablet with codename Sony “Castor”.

As per @evleaks, Sony “Sirius” is a 5.2″ device powered by Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC, expected to debut during MWC 2014 and hopefully will land on “Verizon” this time in US. It seems Sony is now concentrating on its market in US.

As per @evleaks, Sony “Castor” is a tablet powered by Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC and available in both LTE and Wi-Fi version.

Nothing more can be said regarding above both devices but surely the new 2014 Sony’s flagship device will be the censure of everyone’s eye.

Xperia Z1 Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.XXX, 14.2.A.1.XX firmwares spotted

While Xperia Z1 users are waiting for official android 4.3 update for their devices which is due in December as per Sony’s statement on their blog we have spotted some new android 4.3  firmware set running on Xperia Z1 while running handset detection program by our blog. At present Xperia Z1 is running android 4.2.2 version and 14.1.G.2.257 firmware series and recently android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware was spotted on Sony D5503 model.

With respect to android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware spotted running on Sony D5503 model, we spotted Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.XXX, 14.2.A.1.XXX firmware builds exclusively running on Sony Xperia Z1 C6903, while some of the builds were also spotted on C6902. All the Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.XXX, 14.2.A.1.XXX builds seemed as various testing versions and one of them can be a final version also, hopefully the most higher build.

If you have noticed above images clearly you must have seen that android 4.2.2 14.1.G.2.260 firmware is also detected which was never rolled yet as the latest android 4.2.2 build spotted on Xperia Z1 is 14.1.G.2.259. Another mysterious android 4.2.2 14.1.X.6.258 is also spotted.

It is not very clear so far which build will finally be rolled on Xperia Z1 as android 4.3 firmware, it can be any of the above stated firmware or can be the any new build which has not been detected yet.

As per our confidential source, next stop for Xperia Z1 will be android 4.3 now ( no more android 4.2.2 build will be rolled ) and is in pre-final testing version and soon all Xperia Z1 users will taste it. Excited for android, let us know…Don’t ask for ETA as there is none yet except the month December 😛

Xperia Amami / Sony D5503 to be called as Xperia Z1S, doubt prevails ?

Just after a day when we saw Xperia Z1S photo snapped beside with Xperia Z1 from a Digi-Wo user, a new speculation has come up whether Sony D5503 will be called as Xperia Z1S or not. The moment when Xperia Z1F saw it’s release in Japan, rumors started about the existence of Xperia Z1S, international version of Xperia Z1F.

A new user on Digi-Wo has posted a fresh pic of Xperia Z1S snapped on top of Xperia Z1, comparing their size but the annotations reads “It is called Xperia Amami right, DoCoMo version Xperia Z1F as SO-02F right, but not Z1S for now“.

Rumor says Chinese version of Xperia Z1S will come as Sony M55H. Check the pic below yourself of Xperia Z1S on top of Xperia Z1. How we can say the below handset is not Xperia Z1F, well look at this another pic of Xperia Z1S with Xperia Z1, it shares some surroundings of spoon, fork and table cloth as it is.

Xperia Z1S real images leaked running Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware – Sony D5503 Model Number Confirmed

A few days ago a pic was snapped stating that Sony Mobile is taking strict measure to stop the leaks of it’s flagship devices before their official launch as it happened with the Xperia Z1, whose whole specifications, pictures and official press document was leaked a few hours before it’s official launch. It has happened again, this time Xperia Z1S real images leaked running android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware, yesterday we posted an update that firmware 14.2.A.0.25 runs android 4.3 and here it comes. Recently we spotted Sony by mistake putting Xperia Z1S listing on Sony Mobile Global products page which also sparked the rumors of its existence.

Model number Sony D5503 has ben confirmed with this leak. Xperia Z1S is the international release of it’s sibling Xperia Z1F ( aka Xperia Z1 Mini ) which was recently released in Japan on NTT DoCoMo carrier, the then users wanted to come it as a global version also and here it comes now to rock.

Xperia Z1S leaked images confirmed the 720p HD 4.3″ screen running android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware, 16 GB internal storage and 2 GB RAM. Unfortunately same old UI as of android 4.2.2 on Xperia Z1 is spotted also on Xperia Z1S. Chinese version of Xperia Z1S will come as Sony M55H.

Android 4.3 14.2.A.0.205 firmware spotted on Xperia Z1S has no major changes as per UI is concerned which can be seen from below images of the interface.

Home launcher on Xperia Z1S seems very much similar to Xperia Home version 6.1.A.0.5  which was recently posted by us for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra users.

Above Xperia Z1S images clearly shows that now Xperia Z1S is not a rumor, the existence of Sony Xperia Z1S D5503 is proved 🙂 Well next big thing to keep an eye on is the price of Xperia Z1S, well as it packs super high specs of Xperia Z1, it won’t be cheap. It is rumored to be launched next year only during CES 2014 may be.

Xperia Z1S Expected to come as Sony D5503 as HQ Image Sample Leaks

Today some rumors have been put aside for Xperia Z1S, that it was expected to be launched in some Shanghai Press Event of Sony, November 12 but nothing happened, a fake rumor has been put aside again. Don’t loose hope on Xperia Z1S as a new rumor has come up now. It is rumored that Xperia Z1S expected to come as Sony D5503 next year.

Yes you saw right, Sony D5503, it seems Sony has shifted to a new series now for the flagship devices launching in year 2014. It is rumored that D5xxx will be used for mid range devices and D6xxx for high end devices next year and Sony may follow the scheming as “C” for year 2013, “D” for year 2014 and “E” for 2015, afterall it is just a speculation till now, no official word on it so far. As per sources, Sony D5503 can be the international version of Xperia Z1F which was recently launched in Japan under NTT DoCoMo. Yesterday we saw Sony Mobile unintentionally putting up the listing of Xperia Z1S on their global products page and then later on removing it in an hour.

Xperia Z1S spotted on Sony Mobile Global Site and Taken Down by Sony Soon

Since Xperia Z1 launched officially and Xperia Z1F ( aka mini version of Xperia Z1 in Japan ), there has been rumors buzzing about launch of global version of Xperia Z1 Mini as Xperia Z1S. [ RUMOR ] Xperia Z1S and Xperia Taichi to be unveiled on November 12 Shanghai Press Event

After a month of global launch of Sony Xperia Z1 and it’s mini version as Xperia Z1 F recenty in Japan, it seems Sony Mobile is all set to release more devices this year before CES 2014 event. Just now an interesting rumor about Xperia Z1S and Xperia Taichi has been popped up on a Chinese website “Digi-Wo” which has allegedly leaked many info of may Xperia models before their official launch.

As per the tipster on the above mentioned Chinese website, Sony Mobiles is all set to hold a press event in Shanghai on November 11, 2013 where we may see the launch of Xperia Z1S ( assumed as international version of Xperia Z1 F ) and another Xperia device code named as Xperia Taichi.

Xperia Z1S was recently spotted in the alleged leaked press image render from Evleaks and it will feature the same specs as Xperia Z1F. On the other hand this mysterious device Xperia Taichi is a sensation.

Xperia Z1 has been officially unveiled at IFA 2013 Berlin and it was exactly same as all the leaks depicted before its official launch. Note : It is not clear that how much credible above specifications of Xperia Z1 Mini are but the pic of Xperia Z1 Mini very clearly says about it’s design. Above pic can be a photoshopped material also, but something is really cooking at Sony’s camp in “Mini” version.

Xperia Z1 Mini is rumored to be launched during CES 2014 Event like in CES 2013 we saw Sony launching Xperia Z. Till now only this much we have on Xperia Z1 Mini, if anything else pops up we will let you know.

If Xperia Z1 Mini comes with the same specs of processor, RAM, Cam, water and dust resistance it will surely be a powerhouse and will attract a lot attention from users.

All leaked images of White Xperia Honami agian, show a clear side profile of Xperia Honami, an open 3.5 mm water proof headphone jack, longer speaker grill at bottom which is very cool as small speaker grill on side at Xperia Z isn’t sufficient for louder output.

It seems Xperia Honami sports very thick bezels even thicker than Xperia Z ( not expected this time ).

Pics confirmed that 14.1.B.1.493 firmware will definitely bring the new UI to Xperia Z Ultra including X-Reality for Mobile which was missing from Xperia Z Ultra C6802 HSPA+ version and Bravia Engine 2 is their till 14.1.B.0.475 firmware update.

Just after day XDA Developer DooMLoRD tweeted saying that “Xperia Honami might be named as Xperia Z1 ( Z One ) instead of Xperia i1″, it seems that alleged benchmark of Xperia Hoanmi has appeared.

In an alleged AnTuTu leak with a Chinese device named as “L39h” assumed to be Chinese version of Xperia Honami ( Xperia Z1 ) running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Snapdragon 800, 2.3 GHz Quad-core Krait 400 CPU.

Xperia Honami aka Xperia Z1 speculations

Well it is certain that this benchmark has been taken on some initial firmware build, may be 14.1.G.1.493 firmware which was listed 5 days ago on PTCRB but today we spotted this 14.1.G.1.493 firmware has been removed from PTCRB site and now both Xperia Honami C6903/C6906 versions are missing from PTCRB listing.

It seems that as firmware improves this AnTuTu score of Xperia Z1 benchmark will improve and we expect it to atleast cross the 33K mark of Xperia Z Ultra Benchmark, as it scored 33099.

AnTuTu score has risen up to 33099 in 14.1.B.0.471 firmware update from 30233 in previous 14.1.B.0.461 firmware version

Xperia Honami aka Xperia Z1 is expected to feature 20.7 MP camera with 1/2.3″ sensor with G-Lens as seen in clear pics till now and 4k*2k UHD video capture / playback. Well it is expected that soon on 4 Sept. at IFA Event in Berlin we will see the official launch of Xperia Honami whose real name is still speculated…

Sony Xperia Honami i1 looks a lot similar to Xperia Z in design. You can see the same “speaker grill” at the bottom but it is a bit big elongated as compared to Xperia Z. It is rumored to come with Xenon flash. 1/1.5 inch 20 million pixel Exmor RS lens with Xenon + dual LED flash and cybershot camera UI. 3.5 mm headphone jack is seen at top without flap, speculating will it be a water resistant headset or not ?

Micro SD card slot is at side with flap, dedicated camera button and power button on the same side as it was in Xperia Z. Till not rumors are there on specification of Xperia Honami i1 that it will be powered with Snapdragon 800 2.2 Ghz quad core processor with Adreno 330 GPU. It is expected to be seen with 20MP cybershot camera.
