Xperia Z4 SOV31 launched for au by KDDI in Japan

A day back Xperia Z4 SO-03G, Xperia Z4 Tablet SO-05G and Xperia A4 SO-03G were launched for NTT DoCoMo in Japan and today for au by KDDI, Xperia Z4 SOV31 and Xperia Z4 Tablet SOT31 are launched exclusively. Xperia Z4 SOV31 is launched in white, black, copper and aqua green color, to be available for purchase from mid-July this year.

Xperia Z4 SOV31 weighs 144 grams and is 6.9mm thin with 5.2″ FHD Display (1920 x 1080 resolution, no 2K) packed in an aluminum frame with glass back. Xperia Z4 SOV31 features Snapdragon 810 64 bit Octa core processor (2 GHz) with 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage (with micro SD card support). It features 20.7 MP camera 25mm wide-angle, 1 / 2.3 inch size sensor (ISO 12800). It features 5.1 MP front camera (25mm wide-angle). Xperia Z4 SOV31 features 2930 mAh battery (which is less as compared to Xperia Z3 & Xperia Z2)

For the time being it is not clear whether Xperia Z4 will come to global markets or not but rumors say that Xperia Z4 might hit Verizon in USA. Xperia Z3+ was mentioned in one of Sony’s official document, so Sony might release Xperia Z3+ as a global variant of Xperia Z4 (just a speculation).

Xperia A4 SO-04G launched in Japan on NTT DoCoMo

NTT DoCoMo has unveiled its summer 2015 smartphones lineup today and three new Xperia devices i.e. Xperia Z4 SO-03G, Xperia Z4 Tablet SO-05G and Xperia A4 SO-03G are launched. Earlier there were rumors for Xperia Z4 Compact but Xperia SO-04G turned out to be Xperia A4 finally, Japan-specific upgraded variant of Xperia Z3 Compact.

Xperia A4 SO-04G will be available for purchase in Japan on NTT DoCoMo in mid-June 2015, to be available in 4 colors viz. white, black, blue and pink.

Xperia A4 SO-04G is powered by Snapdragon 801 2.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage with a 4.6″ 720p HD display, dimensions as 128 mm ×  66 mm ×  9.1mm weighing 129 grams.

Xperia A4 SO-04G has 2600 mAh embedded battery, 20.7 MP rear cam and 2.2 MP front cam and has IP65/IP68 water resistance certification.

As of now we have seen Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4 Tablet being launched in exclusive and global markets, but Xperia Z4 Compact is still in rumors.

For the time being Xperia Z4 and Xperia A4 are exclusive to the Japanese market only. We will keep you updated if Xperia Z4 hits global markets (though rumors say that Xperia Z4 might hit Verizon in USA).

Sony has officially launched the successor of Xperia Z3 i.e. Xperia Z4 in Japan today exclusively in white, black, copper and aqua green color. Xperia Z4 weighs 144 grams and is 6.9mm thin with 5.2″ FHD Display (1920 x 1080 resolution, no 2K) packed in an aluminum frame with glass back.

Xperia Z4 Launched in Japan

Unexpectedly Xperia Z4 features 2930 mAh battery (which is less as compared to Xperia Z3 & Xperia Z2). Xperia Z4 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box (5.0.2). [ UPDATE ] As per the news floating in now, it seems Xperia Z4 is launched for the Japanese market for the time being and might be only available in Japan. In the late May, Sony is expected to launch the flagship device globally.

Sony SCR30 Style window cover has also been introduced for Xperia Z4 along with a desktop holder.

Now it seems all leaks linking to Xperia Z3 Neo were of Xperia Z4 actually, yes because Sony E6553 is Xperia Z4’s model number. Xperia Z4 looks no wonder phone over Xperia Z3.

Xperia J1 Compact launched in Japan with Snapdragon 800 & 4.3″ 720p display

Sony has launched a new Xperia smartphone exclusively for Japanese market i.e. Xperia J1 Compact (Model Number – D5788). In terms of specifications, it is very similar to Xperia Z1 Compact launched globally. It features 4.3″ 720p display, 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, GPU Adreno 330, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage.

Striking feature of Xperia J1 Compact is that it is unlocked already so can be used with any carrier. It also features 20.7 MP rear cam (G Lens), 2300 mAh embedded battery, IP68 certification and 128 × 65 ×  9.7 mm in dimensions weighing 138 grams.

Xperia J1 Compact comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box though Sony launched Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia Z4 Tablet with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop at MWC 2015.

Pricing of Xperia J1 Compact seems very reasonable if we compare it to the price of Xperia Z1 Compact initially when it was launched (at higher price.) Xperia J1 Compact is nothing but an affordable compact device with good specifications.

Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact launched on DoCoMo, au by KDDI & SoftBank Mobile in Japan

Sony Mobile has recently announced the launch details regarding the release of Xperia Z3 series in Japanese Market. Sony has exclusively launched Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact on NTT DoCoMo, au by KDDI and SoftBank Mobile. For the first time Sony has come up with a handset on SoftBank Mobile in Japan.

As we all know Japan is the home turf for Sony, so they will be trying hard to dethrone other companies with their new flagship device. Xperia Z3 is already been released in other parts of the world. Recently it went on sale in India, available online at Flipkart.

Xperia UL SOL22 Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.D.0.220 firmware update rolling

As when Xperia fans are waiting for Android 4.3 launch in December, some Xperia handsets are till being updated to android 4.2.2. Just now KDDI in Japan is updating Xperia UL SOL22 for AU on Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.D.0.220 firmware update. as mentioned on their official website. Android 4.2.2 is already available on every Xperia Z series handset quite a while ago, it seems they are pretty late.

10.3.1.D.0.220 firmware brings Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Xperia UL SOL22  from android 4.1 firmware. 10.3.1.D.0.220 firmware is of 897.7 MB if done via PC or if an OTA update is done, it is of 234.7 MB size.

10.3.1.D.0.220 firmware brings standard android 4.2.2 features which were also seen on other Xperia handsets, like DUALSHOCK 3 Controller support, transparent navigation bars on home screen and integration of video unlimited in movies apps.
