Sony is now running a “Something extraordinary is coming” campaign for MWC 2014 event on 24 Feb when it’s press conference is expected to be scheduled. As we all know Sony will launch Android 4.4.2 KitKat new Xperia UI at MWC and then all other handsets will be getting it.

In various leaked screenshots of Sony D6503 Sirius we spotted that it sports a new battery icon now which drew some negative feedback from users. Well user iRimas who hold this prototype has just leaked two screenshots with Stamina Mode On/Off Battery Icons. Let’s have a look.

Sony D6503 Sirius front panel listed for NTT DoCoMo Version

As MWC 2014 event is coming near we are seeing daily some leaks regarding Sony D6503 Sirius much rumored to be commercially named as Xperia Z2. Just now as claimed, original Sony D6503 Sirius front panel is listed at Moumantai, online spare parts retailer shop in Japan. It is labelled as Xperia Z2 “Sirius” for NTT DoCoMo by the retailer.

On the top of Sony D6503 Sirius front panel, NTT DoCoMo logo is spotted and on bottom Sony logo which clearly hints that Sony D6503 Sirius well head to Japan also and that too early after global launch. Sony D6503 Sirius front panel listed can not be bought right now.

Two pics have been leaked by a tipster from Digi-Wo where he has shown Sony D6503 Sirius in comparison with Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z. If the tipster is to be believed he says “Sony D6503 is Xperia Z2 whose listing will go live in April and it comes with Sony logo no longer printed on anti-shatter film“. We can’t confirm the exact model name of Sony D6503, for the time being take this info with a pinch of salt 😉

If rumors are to be believed Sony will announce Sony D6503 Sirius and Sony SGP521 tablet at MWC 2014 event on 24 Feb, hope we see them there. Commercial name of Sony D6503 is still under shadow and no leak till now have confirmed that it will be called Xperia Z2, but it will take over the legacy of Xperia Z1 and Sony SGP521 tablet will take over Xperia Tablet Z as new flagship device.

On the lockscreen, music scrubber is displayed and you can select any part of music to be played, this feature is right now not available on android 4.3 Xperia Z1 as it is a native KitKat feature. Camera launch icon is also spotted at bottom.

Another interesting statement was quoted by “iRimas” that right now there is no option to switch on ART settings in the firmware running on this prototype, which is again a native KitKat feature. We hope all new features which we saw in Sony D6503 Sirius KitKat firmware also comes to Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact when android 4.4 KitKat arrives on them.

We expect Sony rolls out similar 4K Video app, Timeshift Video app, Creative Effect Camera App etc. on Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact on android 4.4.2 KitKat in future. It is still under speculation whether these features will be given or not. Sony has already started working on KitKat 14.3.A.x.xxx firmware KitKat for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact. Sony D6503 Sirius camera photo samples leaked, compared with Xperia Z1

Sony D6503 aka Sony Sirius which has been unofficially announced as the real pics of Sony D6503 have been leaked weeks ago with an overview of what Sony has planned for users on Xperia Android 4.4.2 KitKat 4.4.2 UI. A much before that we saw Sony D6503 allegedly appearing in the AnTuTu Benchmark database and scoring 29745 points. Sony D6603 has also been spotted but with no images till now.

As you know Sony D6503 Sirius features same 20.7 MP rear cam with Sony “G” lens exactly like Xperia Z1, users were asking for the camera photo samples of it to check whether it’s camera quality is better than Xperia Z1 or not. Let us tell you clearly that Sony D6503 features same cam as Xperia Z1, only the firmware featured is different that’s why you may find a great difference in the camera photo samples of both.

Camera Mode :- Below pic is taken in “superior auto mode” with flash on.

In above set of pics, pic taken from Sony D6503 appeared more bright and detailed.

NOTE :- In above set of pics, flash light is not seen on the pic sample of Xperia Z1 in TV, we too have commented in the original post by “iRimas” regarding this clarification but no words from him till now.

Camera Mode :- Below pic is taken in a room with no light ( dark room ) “superior auto mode” with flash on.

In above set of pics, Xperia Z1 photo sample appeared more clear.

P.S. We will soon be uploading the original camera resolution pics from Sony D6503 with the exif data.

As both Sony D6503 and Xperia Z1 shares same piece of hardware in rear camera, it seems except the firmware nothing is different in them. As when the firmware will be ready in final retail version on Sony D6503 we may find more better pics from it and same is expected from Xperia Z1 on android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.X.XXX firmware which Sony has already started testing.

Timeshift Video app interface from Sony D6503 Sirius Leaked

We all know Sony D6503 Sirius now, a few days ago we saw leaked pics of Sony D6503 and then full android 4.4.2 KitKat Xperia UI of Sony D6503 was leaked by same source iRimas. Some new features like 4K Video recording and Timeshift video app were seen which are quite amazing.

Timeshift Video app in new Sony D6503 Sirius will allow users to record videos in higher fps now and then they can apply slow motion effects to it. We are expecting a new and improved camera app also from Sony in new Xperia KitKat UI.

You can see an arc which we guess will be used to adjust the slow motion effects on the video made. You can select the portion where slow motion changes are to be applied and that portion can be seen in highlighted blue color.

We are soon expecting the new Sony D6503 and Sony D6603 announcement officially at the MWC 2014 event, both devices are not expected to be the flagship devices.

We checked in a comment made by “iRimas” that DooMLoRD is working on getting some features of Sony D6503 to Xperia Z1, well hope everything goes well and we can enjoy the new 4K video recording and Timeshift Video app on Xperia Z1 before they are officially rolled on Xperia Z1 ( it is expected that some features seen in KitKat UI of Sony D6503 will be kept exclusive to it only for the time being. ).

Rumored Sony Sirius aka Xperia Z2 back panel frame photos leaked, is it real ?

Sony Sirius is in rumors now after @Evleaks tweeting saying that it may be launched at MWC 2014. As per @Evleaks Sony Sirius will sport a 5.2″ display hopefully a QHD display powered by Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC processor. Recently we spotted that Snapdragon Wikipedia page has listed Sony Sirius under the brand name Xperia Z2 in Snapdragon 800 as well as Snapdragon 805 Soc. Well till now no render of Sony Sirius rumored to be Xperia Z2 has come up, it seems now it has.

As seen on Digi-Wo it seems Sony Sirius aka Xperia Z2 back panel photos have been leaked, it’s a purple colored panel which shows that camera sensor location and LED flash position is different as compared to Xperia Z1 and it has a secondary microphone hole at back. Xperia branding is also seen at the back panel. As per the tipster, it may support a 5.3″ screen and the back panel seems of carbon-fiber material.

Check below the Sony Sirius aka Xperia Z2 back panel photo. The pic can be a fake or photoshopped, can’t say at this moment that is a real pic.

As per the tipster, it may support a 22.7 MP ( 23 MP ) rear cam with Sony “G” lens.

Well MWC 2014 event is near and we hope Sony launch its first flagship device for the year 2014, though it said that Xperia Z1 will continue the flagship status in year 2014 but for how long, only time will tell.

What do you think guys over Sony Sirius, it is really Xperia Z2 or some other device from Sony.

Snapdragon SoC Wikipedia page lists Xperia Z2 Sirius under Snapdragon 805 and 800 chipsets

If you remember a few days back we saw @Evleaks reporting that a 5.2″ device named Sony Sirius with Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC processor. Well a lot speculation is going on after the Sony Sirius, it may be the Sony’ new flagship device “Xperia Z2” but is it ? Sony recently reported that Xperia Z1 will remain flagship in 2014 for sometime, but for how long ?

As per @Evleaks, Sony Sirius may debut in MWC2014 event exclusively. Just now we spotted that Snapdragon SoC Wikipedia page has listed Sony Sirius under the name Xperia Z2 in two categories of SoC i.e. Snapdragon 800 MSM8974-AB and Snapdragon 805 MSM8084.

Well if Sony Sirius or Xperia Z2 comes with Snapdragon 805 SoC, then it will be one of the the first device to get launch with it. It supports Adreno 420 GPU with 2.5 GHz quad core processor, Snapdragon’s SoC latest build.

It is still not very clear that is Sony Sirius really Xperia Z2, as information found on Snapdragon SoC Wikipedia page can’t be taken as so sure now for the time being as they have listed in under two categories which arises the doubts.

5.2″ inch Sony “Sirius” 2014 flagship and Sony “Castor” for MWC Debut – Evleaks reports

It has only been 24 hours since we saw Sony officially launching Xperia Z1 Compact ( Xperia Z1C ), the miniature version of Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z1s LTE version for T-Mobile USA. Unfortunately as already mentioned by Sony no flagship device is introduced, so what’s next flagship device from Sony Mobiles.

As Snapdragon 805 SoC has already been introduced by Snapdragon so will new flagship device gonna featuring it ? Well hopefully the answer is no for now. Just now Twitter handle of @evleaks have tweeted about Sony’s 2014 flagship device, a 5.2″ Sony “Sirius” and new tablet with codename Sony “Castor”.

As per @evleaks, Sony “Sirius” is a 5.2″ device powered by Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC, expected to debut during MWC 2014 and hopefully will land on “Verizon” this time in US. It seems Sony is now concentrating on its market in US.

As per @evleaks, Sony “Castor” is a tablet powered by Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC and available in both LTE and Wi-Fi version.

Nothing more can be said regarding above both devices but surely the new 2014 Sony’s flagship device will be the censure of everyone’s eye.

Now we have to see how long will Xperia Z1 remains Sony’s flagship device. What do you think, is 5.2″ device good for a flagship range ? Are you OK with such device while Sony “Castor” will be the tablet we will be looking for…
