Sony has launched a new AR Effect theme “Jungle” at Play Store. It is to be used with Sony AR Effect app ( version > 3.1.1 ) in Sony Social Smart Camera App, compatible with Xperia handsets running Android 4.3+ version.

With the theme you get jungle ( forest ) like effect while taking photos or shooting videos with your phone’s camera. You get figures like tiger, giraffe, orangutan, snake, monkey etc.

Sony Walkman 8.5.A.2.7 app update rolling – Material Design UI and compatible with Android Lollipop

Sony has updated its Walkman app to 8.5.A.2.7 version ( over previous 8.5.A.0.6 version ) which officially brings new material design UI to the app and compatibility with Android Lollipop version. Update also enables you now to use any sound equaliser from Play Store along with usual bug fixes and performance enhancement. Walkman app icon has also been modified as per new material design.

Sony Walkman 8.5.A.2.7 update is confirmed rolling on Xperia Z2. Official screenshots of Walkman 8.5.A.2.7 app confirms the new Sony Android Lollipop update soft navigation keys like we saw in previous Movie Creator 2.3.A.0.3 app update.

Sony has updated their TrackID app to newer 4.1.B.0.12 version over previous 4.1.B.0.11 version. TrackID app features now material design ( more a flat design ) which was initially updated in beta 4.1.B.0.5 version of the app.

Sony TrackID Beta 4.1.B.0.12 app brings new UI design, faster recognition speed and support for Android Wear which is the exact similar changelog like previous version.

Sony has updated its Movie Creator app to newer 2.3.A.0.3 version over previous 2.2.A.0.8 version. Movie Creator 2.3.A.0.3 update now lists unfinished movies and allows users to add photos/videos for highlight movie creation.

Movie Creator 2.3.A.0.3 update brings a little bit changes to the user interface and usual big fixes and performance enhancement. It is confirmed rolling on whole Xperia “Z” series handsets.

Sony’s older generation SmartBand model SWR10 saw an upgrade today in terms of design as SmartBand SWR10 with brown leather wrist strap is now available for purchase from official Sony Xperia online stores across Europe and other regions.

Sony SmartBand SWR10 is a fitness band from Sony to track and log the details of your daily activities like walking, sleeping, cycling etc. Tagged with Sony doesn’t mean it can only be used with Xperia devices, you can use it with any android device ( for Xperia handsets you need atleast android 4.4 running ). It has a light weight wrist strap with a Sony core which is used to track your physical activities like steps count during walking or running.

We are waiting for Sony to roll Android 5.0 Lollipop update on Xperia “Z” series and to see what Sony is holding for users in terms of new material design inspired UI. It seems we will also have new Xperia wallpapers inspired from material design.

XDA user DennisDD78 shared some 500 material design wallpapers which go very beautifully on home screen & lock screen of FHD devices. Lock screen wallpapers have 1080×1776 resolution and home screen wallpapers have 2664×2664 resolution ( you need to crop a little bit to adjust them ).

Sony says stainless steel gives you “timeless aestheticism for a premium look and feel”. SmartWatch 3 has 1.6” 320×320 TFT LCD Transflective display, IP 68 certified.

Sony also introduced SmartWatch 3 holder enabling users to try any 24mm watch strap with their SmartWatch 3, availability date unknown for the time being.

Sony MDR-EX31BN earphones are only compatible fully working with Digit Noise Cancelling enabled Xperia smartphones ( Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 ), otherwise they will only work as normal earphones without DNC.

It uses Bluetooth or NFC for pairing it with your device. It has 13.5 mm sound driver unit and comes with micro USB charging port, once changed fully allowing usage of more than 10 hours. It allows you to receive and end calls.
