Sony Privilege Plus app has been updated to newer 01.01.16 version today from older 01.01.15 version. Sony Privilege Plus app 01.01.16 version brings some minor bugs fixing and performance enhancement in the app. This app is available only in limited regions for the time being.

With Sony Privilege Plus app, you can view TV serial episodes, movie clips/behind the scenes videos. You need to have some promotional vouchers to view the exclusive content. Sony’s Remote Device Lab service now features Xperia Z3 running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Android Lollipop update brought new APIs for developers, smoother, and responsive UI and being a developer if you want to test your app on new Lollipop firmware, now you can virtually.

Sony defines Remote Device Lab service as “Remote Device Lab (beta) makes it possible to verify apps on a wide range of real Xperia™ devices for free, through an easy-to-use, accessible web interface. This way, you can ensure that your apps work correctly across many different devices and platforms, without having to buy the actual devices“.

The good thing about Sony Remove Device Lab is that all featured devices are equipped with SIM card and all functions and features are working except you can’t make calls.

Xperia C4 shipping in Asia-Pacific region officially, global roll-out in upcoming weeks

Sony unveiled Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual last month and now it is officially shipping in Asia-Pacific region as per the statement made by Sony today and global roll-out to be completed in upcoming weeks. As per Sony India, Xperia C4 Dual will be available for purchase in mid-June this year.

Sony Xperia C4 is Sony’s first octa-core smartphone to be introduced in the market. Sony has not revealed the pricing of Xperia C4 yet and neither it is available for purchase online through their online stores. It would soon be available from their official Xperia stores.

Xperia C4 features Android Lollipop out of the box, 5.5″ 1080p FHD screen IPS display (401 PPI and Sony BRAVIA Engine 2 for mobile and super vivid mode) powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6752 processor (64 bit) , Mali-T760MP2 GPU backed by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Xperia C4 is 150.3 x 77.4 x 7.9 mm in dimensions, weighing 147 grams and a 2600 mAh battery.

Sony launches SmartBand 2 SWR12 App officially – Features Heart Rate Sensor

Sony Mobile has officially launched the SmartBand 2 SWR12 app on Play Store today which confirms that SmartBand 2 SWR12 is going to launch soon. It is confirmed now that SmartBand 2 SWR12 will have built-in heart rate sensor.

Sony says “SmartBand 2 SWR12 App is an interactive wristband which tracks your body effort though pulse and HRV, keep track of your movements and your sleep”.

Sony SmartBand 2 SWR12 has a smart wake up function (might be vibrating alarm). It’s notification function will let users know when someone is calling, notification message on social networks or if you left your phone behind. You will need Sony Lifelog app to see all recorded details.

Knowingly or unknowing Sony has outed the official picture of Sony SmartBand 2 SWR12 also.

Xperia M2, M2 Aqua Android 5.1 Lollipop Update coming in July

A very good news for Xperia M2 series users came today from Sony that official Android 5.1 Lollipop update will be arriving soon. Sony officially mentioned that whole Xperia M2 series (Xperia M2, Xperia M2 Dual, Xperia M2 Aqua) will get directly Android 5.1 Lollipop update, skipping Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update.

Sony mentioned that first they will update entire Xperia “Z” series on Android 5.1 Lollipop update starting from July this year and then update will hit Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 and then Xperia M2 series users can expect the update to arrive.

If we take that whole July month Sony spends in rolling Android 5.1 Lollipop update on Xperia “Z” series then it might only come in August on Xperia M2 series but it is better to be later than never come.

Sony Android 5.1 Lollipop update coming in July on whole Xperia “Z” series, including M2 Series

Sony Mobile has just officially confirmed that they will be rolling Android 5.1 Lollipop update starting from July on whole Xperia “Z” series including Xperia C3 (C3 Dual) and Xperia T2 Ultra (T2 Ultra Dual). Unfortunately, there is no mention of Xperia T3 yet.

Sony Mobile has officially said that Xperia M2, Xperia M2 Dual, Xperia M2 Aqua will directly get Android 5.1 Lollipop update (skipping Android 5.0) after Sony is done rolling it on above mentioned devices.

Earlier today Sony launched TV SideView Voice Plug-in app on Play Store which links with the Sony Android TV via Quick Remote: TV SideView app (which updated yesterday to new 2.12.1 version, this app must be download before using the plugin) enabling voice search on your TV.

You can voice search programs you want to see and other things you are interested in. Plugin is available for free on Play Store and is compatible with Android phones running Android 4.0.3+.

23.1.C.0.385 firmware update is rolling via both OTA and PC Companion. It is also live via XperiFirm tool. 23.1.C.0.385 firmware OTA update size is 621 MB.

Sony’s latest Xperia Z3+ is a rebranded name for (for global users) Xperia Z4 and an upgraded smartphone over Xperia Z3. Xperia Z3+ features capless USB port, has no magnetic charging slot and has only 1 flap as compared to Xperia Z3 but is identical to Xperia Z4 in terms of specs and design.

Xperia Z3+ features Snapdragon 810 64 bit Octa core processor (2 GHz) with 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage (with micro SD card support). It features 20.7 MP camera 25mm wide-angle, 1 / 2.3 inch size sensor (ISO 12800). It features 5.1 MP front camera (25mm wide-angle). Xperia Z3+ weighs 144 grams and is 6.9mm thin with 5.2″ FHD Display (1920 x 1080 resolution, no 2K) packed in an aluminum frame with glass back. Xperia Z3+ features 2930 mAh battery (which is less as compared to Xperia Z3 & Xperia Z2). Xperia Z3+ comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box (5.0.2). Xperia Z3+ is IP65/68 certified (with capless USB port). In terms of design, Xperia Z3+ is a combination of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 but slimmer, lighter, and powerful.

Sony has officially launched Xperia Cars Roar Trip theme on Play Store, earlier they launched Xperia Cars Lightning and Xperia Tow Maters Theme along with Xperia Toy Story Buzz and Xperia Toy Story Woody theme (all 4 being paid themes).

Xperia Cars Road Trip Theme features both Lightning McQueen and Tow Maters from Disney’s movie Cars in lockscreen and homescreen wallpaper and customized navigation keys.
