Sony promised to roll Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra this week and as the week has started and a new 19.3.A.0.470 build certification coming along, it surely means the update is about to come. Dual SIM variants of both devices will be getting Lollipop update.

23.1.A.0.740 firmware certified for Xperia “Z3” & “Z2” series

A new 23.1.A.0.740 firmware has been certified for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series over current build 23.1.A.0.726. Earlier Sony rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series in the form of 23.1.A.0.690 firmware, which was pulled later and 23.1.A.0.726 firmware was released globally.

23.1.A.0.740 firmware is certified for Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. It is not yet certified for Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. It is a bug fixing update, as the present Android 5.0.2 23.1.A.0.726 build is having issues like severe battery drain, heating issues and some minor bugs.

Google has officially announced a major update to Android Wear which includes lots of new features. It is in news that Google will soon roll out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on Nexus devices and then we can expect the Android Wear 5.1.1 update to come to Sony SmartWatch 3.

Sony Album app has got a new beta update in the form of 7.2.A.0.4 version over previous 7.1.A.0.22 version. Album 7.2.A.0.4 update is not yet available at Play Store. Album 7.2.A.0.4 app brings new full screen actionlayer (single tap on the image in full screen to show it).

Xperia Z4 pics with metal body frame & new power button leaked – Internal Renders spotted at WikiLeaks

Yesterday news came that Xperia Z4 will feature new metal body frame, a refreshed power button with an inbuilt touch finger print sensor and to be released in September, possibly at IFA 2015. Today, thousands of alleged Sony confidential documents got leaked at WikiLeaks.

While digging leaked Sony documents, posted at WikiLeaks, internal renders of Xperia Z4 has been spotted and some emails confirming that Xperia Z4 is the next Sony flagship, the successor of Xperia Z3, coming in 2015. Design may change at the time of launch, internal visuals are for design purpose only at the very early stage.

“Sony Electronics is now combing the production request list and will shortly tell us what they can provide. Sony MOBILE has now provided us with the needed visuals of the new Z4 Phones. Xperia Z4 to have touch finger print sensor & metal design

A few days back we heard that all leaks associated with Sony E6553 could be of Xperia Z3 Neo rather than Xperia Z4 and now few more leaks associated with Xperia Z4 design and release date have been revealed.

As per @ViziLeaks, Sony will be using a metal design for Xperia Z4 (previously they used glass). Sony signature power button in Xperia Z4 gets a refreshed design with built-in touch finger print sensor.

As seen in the tweet made by @ViziLeaks, Xperia Z4 is tipped to come out in Septemeber, hopefully at IFA 2015.

Well, still it is not clear that is Sony going to two introduce two Xperia devices i.e. Xperia Z3 Neo & Xperia Z4 within such short period of time or only Xperia Z4.

As we have seen touch finger print sensor in recently launched HTC One M9+, Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone 6 and now Sony putting a touch finger print sensor in Xperia Z4, it seems a cool idea to us but inbuilt in power button, will it be able to function properly.

Sony TrackID app has got a new update in the form of 4.1.B.3.2 version today at Play Store. Other than usual bug fixing and performance enhancement, it follows the old changelog like previous version; material design UI, faster recognition speed and support for Android Wear.

Android 4.2+ is needed to install the app. App helps to identify the music track playing around you just like Shazam app, obviously you need your device connected to internet.

Xperia Lockscreen disabled by administrator error fix after Lollipop update

Sony recently rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia “Z2” & Xperia “Z3” series. In the new Lollipop UI, Sony introduced many new features like material design UI, new Xperia Themes & Wallpapers, new settings & animations.

After updating to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update many Xperia users are seeing this error “lockscreen disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage“, even we got the same error once we were trying to set the lock screen security settings to “none/slide” from “PIN/Password”.

Issue/Error: Not able to set lockscreen security settings as “None/Slide” back once you have set it to “PIN/Password”.

NOTE: Below posted solutions work for all Android devices running Lollipop.

Solution: There is a very simple solution for Xperia Lockscreen disabled by administrator error.

Go to Settings > Security > Screen Security. Check whether you are seeing an error, as shown above, if yes then proceed as mentioned below.

Under Security > Credential Storage > Tap on “Clear Credentials (Remove all certificates)” > Tap on OK.

After clearing credentials, credential storage security settings would look like as shown below.

Once Credentials are cleared you can again set lockscreen security settings as “none/slide”

Sony Walkman 8.5.A.3.3 app updated – Bug Fixing

Sony Walkman app has been updated to newer 8.5.A.3.3 version over older 8.5.A.3.2 version. Last month Sony put “Xperia Music” app ( version 5.0.A.0.10 ) at Play Store (which was spotted in various screenshots and it is considered that Xperia Music app is going to replace Walkman officially) but now Sony has pulled Xperia Music app from Play Store for the time being.

Walkman 8.5.A.3.3 app update is a minor bug-fixing update only. Previous 8.5.A.3.2 version changelog reads as “you can now on your Android Wear device view songs in synchronized playlist and start playback from any song in the playlist”. Walkman app has already got material design UI.

Are we seeing Xperia Z3 Neo or Xperia Z4 ? Confusion arises for Sony E6553

Sony E6553 which was tagged as Xperia Z4 by various number of leaks which were spotted has taken a u-turn now. As per the latest update from @ViziLeaks, leaks linking to Xperia Z4 is not of Xperia Z4 actually but for Sony Xperia Z3 Neo.

Xperia Z3 Neo or Xperia Z4, confusion arises for the model number Sony E6553, as the title says. Earlier Xperia Z4 leaks came from @OnLeaks which has a very strong reputation of outing authentic info and now @ViziLeaks says we might be looking at Sony Xperia Z3 Neo rather than Xperia Z4.

As the design of Sony E6553 looks very similar to Xperia Z3 except some minor changes like capless micro USB port, one single flap on left side, it may or may not refer to Xperia Z3 Neo.

Xperia Z4/Sony S6553 has been spotted in GFXBenchmark earlier where its specifications appeared for the first time and now its Adreno 430 GPU benchmark results have appeared. Xperia Z4 is believed to feature Snapdragon 810 64-Bit octa-core chipset (1.9 GHz) along with Adreno 430 GPU.

Sony Z Ultra C6806 Google Play Edition is getting Android 5.1 Lollipop update now in form of LMY47D build. Update is released as an OTA and confirmed in USA region already. Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra is still on Android 4.4.4 and waiting for Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update (14.5.A.0.242 firmware for which has already been certified).

What changes exactly the Android 5.1 Lollipop LMY47D build brought is not known clearly. Go ahead and update your Sony Z Ultra GPE C6806 now, update is still seeding though.

Install Xperia Lollipop Pattern Pink & Blue Theme

Sony has started rolling Android Lollipop update on its Xperia smartphones now and so far Xperia “Z3” and Xperia “Z2” series have seen it. Sony introduced new material design Xperia Themes on Android Lollipop firmware but unfortunately for the time being there is not much customization available in those themes.

A few customized Xperia Lollipop themes are now available on Play Store, we are sharing today Xperia Lollipop Pattern Pink and Blue Theme with same colored status and settings bar. They are compatible with only Android 5.0+ running Xperia devices (non rooted).

Lollipop coming for Xperia Z3 Dual, Z1, Z1 Compact & Z Ultra next week, Sony confirms

Sony Mobile in a tweet made today, confirmed that Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact & Xperia Z Ultra will be getting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update next week and Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 will be next to get update.

Earlier today Sony confirmed the global rollout for Xperia Z2 Tablet and Xperia Z2 and now many regions like Vietnam, Singapore, Ukraine, Thailand, MENA Arabic, Generic LAM, USA, India have already got update on Xperia Z2 D6502 today.

Android Lollipop 23.1.1.E.0.1 firmware has already been certified for Xperia Z3 Dual.

Android Lollipop 14.5.A.0.242 firmware has already been certified for Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact & Xperia Z Ultra.

Android Lollipop 14.5.B.0.220 firmware has already been certified for Xperia Z1s (T-Mobile variant for USA).

Android Lollipop 19.3.A.0.468 firmware has already been certified for Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3.

Xperia Z, Xperia ZL & Xperia ZR will get Lollipop update once Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia T2 Ultra & Xperia C3 gets Lollipop update.

Xperia C4 Dual E5333 Cosmos pic leaks

Yesterday a pic of Xperia C4 in turquoise color leaked and today almost confirmation has come that Sony Cosmos is Xperia C4 with model number Sony E53XX. It is also believed that dual SIM variant of Xperia C4 will also be released with model number Sony E5333 and Type Number PM-0862-BV.

Xperia C4 Dual is codenamed as Sony Cosmos_DS. Xperia C4 Dual E5333 has been leaked in an alleged pic today (white color) showing the front panel of the device clearly. Earlier today @UpLeaks also leaked specifications of Sony E5503 (Xperia Lavender).
