Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair”, Xperia Z2 SO-03F brochure and pics leaked

Xperia SO-04F Altair which was recently spotted at FCC and speculated as Xperia Z2 Compact has now popped up again with solid proof of its existence. Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair” and Xperia Z2 SO-03F brochure and pics have been leaked online, both being the handsets for Japan only ( preferably for NTT DoCoMo ).

Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair” is spotted in new color range from Sony this time viz. Gray Black, Lavender, Orange and White and specifications very much similar to Xperia Z1 Compact / Xperia Z1F which is refraining us to call it new Xperia Z2F handset. Leaked brochure of Xperia A2 SO-04F “Altair” also shows the different parts of the handset.

Xperia Z2 SO-03F is also spotted in the leaked brochures of NTT DoCoMo which clearly indicates that soon Japanese version of Xperia Z2 will make its appearance in market. Interesting no IR blaster is spotted this time which is a flagship characteristic of all Xperia handsets launched in Japan.

Xperia Altair name spotted in Xperia Z1 Ringtones list with other Xperia devices – Coincidence or Nomenclature ?

Going through Xperia Z1 KitKat ringtones and notification tones list, notification sounds with name “Altair”, “Castor”, “Sirius”, “Pollux” are present out of which three are the names of present Sony Xperia devices. Sirius is codename for Xperia Z2, Castor is codename for Xperia Z2 Tablet while Pollux is codename for Xperia Tablet Z whereas Altair is rumored to be codename for Xperia Z2 Compact which was recently spotted on FCC.

Notification sound for codename of flagships for H1 year 2014 are present inside the notification tones list in Xperia Z1 KitKat update, it seems a pure coincidence to us but name “Altair” has been spotted unexpectedly.

Below you can also see “Canopus” written; a few days back we saw Xperia Canopus making noise as it got certification in Japan but still the device Xperia Canopus is in rumors.

Xperia Altair is very much rumored to be Xperia Z2 Compact whose certification on FCC and its front panels have been spotted on an online retailer’s site.

It can purely be a coincidence or a nomenclature from Sony for naming its new device by making a notification sound on its codename.

Xperia Z2 Compact “Altair” passes through FCC – SO-04F NTT DoCoMo model number

Xperia Z2 takes over the legacy of Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 took over the legacy of Xperia Z, in similar fashion it seems Sony is now bringing over Xperia Z2 Compact “Altair”, an upgraded version of Xperia Z1 Compact which was launched at CES 2014 and its sibling Xperia Z1 F was launched on NTT DoCoMo in Japan in year end 2013. It has only been 3 months since Xperia Z1 Compact came into market,

Xperia Z2 Compact is officially spotted on FCC under code name “Altair” and SO-04F NTT DoCoMo model number. No specification of Xperia Z2 Compact Altair is out yet, though we are expecting the similar specs and features like Xperia Z2 except the screen and battery size. Though it is confirmed that Xperia Z2 Compact “Altair” will use the same 20.7 MP ear camera.

Xperia Z2 Compact “Altair” will be a hit just like Xperia Z2 among users but what major concern here is the launching date of Xperia Z2 Compact, as Xperia Z1 Compact is just 3 months old so far.
