Install Xperia X Display Port on Marshmallow running Xperia devices

Sony Xperia apps, wallpapers, themes, etc. have been ported till now and now its display is also ported for marshmallow running Xperia devices. It is confirmed working on Xperia Z5, Z3, Z2.

You will notice better color calibration, faster image processing (album/movies) and brighter screen. You need rooted Xperia devices with custom recovery installed. Do backup your device ROM before installing this port.

Sony stock weather widget in transparent mode ported

Sony’s stock weather widget has been ported to feature in a transparent mode. You need rooted Xperia device with recovery installed running stock Sony Lollipop or Marshmallow ROM to flash the port.

If stock weather widget is already active on your home screen, remove it first. Download the flashable zip file and flash it in recovery. Add the weather widget again on home screen.

Install Xperia X LDAC & AHC Port – Get Hi-Res audio on Bluetooth

LDAC & AHC, new audio technology from Sony, featured in Sony Xperia X, is now available for other Xperia devices also as it has been ported for other handsets. LDAC allows highly quality wireless audio via Bluetooth with enhanced wireless experience.

For the time being, it only works with Marshmallow running Xperia devices (also supports Android N Developer Preview running devices, tested on Xperia Z3).

Install Movies 6.1.A.0.18, Walkman 8.1.A.0.7, Album 5.4.A.0.24 app from Xperia Z2

Yesterday we posted Xperia Z2 D6503 17.1.A.2.36 firmware ftf and found that Sony has updated many apps in this firmware including the media and camera apps. Camera app AR Effect reads new 2.0.8 version and media apps read Movies 6.1.A.0.18, Walkman 8.1.A.0.7 and Album 5.4.A.0.24 app version on new Xperia Z2 android 4.4.2 firmware.

XDA user dvha79_ddt has ported new media apps for rooted Xperia handsets running android 4.1.2 later version. Download the concerned media app apk file and install it like a normal apk or push in system/app > set permissions rw- r– r– and reboot. Only for rooted handsets, will not work on non root handsets, confirmed working on Xperia Z1, Z, ZL, SP etc.

A few days back we posted Xperia Z2 black themed Message KitKat app and now the same XDA dev Rajeev has ported the Xperia Z2 black themed Calendar KitKat app for all those users who don’t like the white background UI of Sony on android 4.3 firmware. Black theme on both calendar and message app looks very good, colored text looks good on it, gives the feel of Sony’s black UI on android 4.1.2+.

XDA Dev niaboc79 has again done wonder by porting Xperia Z2 D6503 Sirius Android 4.4.2 KitKat Message, Clock, Email, Clock app on rooted Xperia smartphones running android 4.3 or higher version so they should work well on Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z, ZL, ZR, SP, T, TX, V etc. To install those apps, follow the instructions from below.

Below mentioned file has Xperia Z2 Conversations.apk, SemcCalendar.apk, SemcClock,apk, SemcEmail.apk in a zip flashable, meant to be flashed in recovery on rooted Xperia handsets.

Process of porting apps from Xperia Z2 has already begun and it started with Xperia Z2 Smart call handling feature getting ported for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact. A moment ago we saw Xperia Z2 Camera apps Addons port – Creative Effects, AR Effect 2.0.4 , Background Defocus 1.1.7 on various rooted Xperia smartphones. TimeShift Video and 4K Camera app port is not yet available for the time being.

We shared a lot before Xperia Z2 Movies 6.1.A.0.4 and Walkman 8.1.A.0.4 app but it didn’t work on any devices and now XDA dev niaboc79 has made possible installation of Xperia Z2 Movies 6.1.A.0.4 and Walkman 8.1.A.0.4 app on any rooted Xperia Smartphone.

You need android 4.3 jelly bean to install them. It may work on lower version but not tested yet and may have an issue with resolution. It should worked perfect on Xperia Z1, Z, ZL, ZR, Z Ultra, SP, L, M, C.

Download below mentioned zip file,  it has old Album version also; no need to install it. Either flash the whole zip in recovery of extract it and push each apk manually in System/App, set permissions rw-r-r and reboot.

A few moments ago we shared Xperia Z2 System Dump from Android 4.4.2 KitKat 17.1.A.0.289 firmware and the development process has begun already. XDA Dev RyokoN has ported Xperia Z2 Smart call handling feature on Xperia Z1 and it works fine. Your Xperia Z1 needs to have root in order to install this port.

Xperia Z2 Smart call handling features lets users answer the calls without touching the screen, to answer the calls bring the phone near to ear, to reject the calls just shake the device and silent the phone by just placing it face-down.
