Xperia T3 Lollipop update coming soon in coming weeks

In a tweet made to Sony France, their Twitter account handler said that Sony has planned to launch Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update on Xperia T3 in the following weeks. Though no definite time period has been given except “coming soon in following weeks“.

Sony has already updated its whole Xperia “Z” series on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update along with Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 and now those handset users are waiting for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to arrive (remember Android 5.1.1 running on Xperia Z3 video has already been leaked).

Sony says Xperia Z Lollipop update will start rolling out by next week

Sony Philippines twitter team recently tweeted saying that Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Xperia Z will start rolling out by next week. It seems Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z will get the Lollipop update at the same time.

Sony has already rolled Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Xperia Z2 & Xperia Z3 series, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia T2 Ultra & Xperia C3. As promised earlier, Sony said whole Xperia “Z” series will get Lollipop update.

Sony has not mentioned its plan for rolling Lollipop update for other Xperia handsets like Xperia T3, Xperia E3, Xperia M2, Xperia M2 Aqua etc. so Sony may come up with roll out plan once they are done with Xperia “Z” series.

In mid-April,  an alleged screenshot running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop 10.6.A.0.xx.xxx firmware on Xperia Z was leaked (remember though screenshot came from reputed XDA user gbil and as per him “Ultra STAMINA Mode is present in Lollipop update for Xperia Z”, it still can be faked easily).

Sony Mobile in a tweet made today, confirmed that Xperia Z3 Dual, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact & Xperia Z Ultra will be getting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update next week and Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 will be next to get update.

Earlier today Sony confirmed the global rollout for Xperia Z2 Tablet and Xperia Z2 and now many regions like Vietnam, Singapore, Ukraine, Thailand, MENA Arabic, Generic LAM, USA, India have already got update on Xperia Z2 D6502 today.

Sony Mobile France teases a new Xperia coming tomorrow

Sony Mobile France has just teased a new Xperia smartphone which is coming tomorrow morning. In a tweet made by Sony Mobile France, it says, “Une éclipse solaire aura lieu demain matin. Nous sommes déjà prêts… et vous ?” which translates to “A solar eclipse will take place tomorrow morning. We are already ready… and you?”

It can’t be said right now which Xperia smartphone they are referring to. Recently we saw Xperia Cosmo in alleged leaked with 5 MP front cam (along with LED flash), could it be Xperia Cosmos then (or is it Xperia C4?).

No specific info about the device has been revealed yet except its arrival date i.e. tomorrow morning. By looking at the pic. it seems a 5″+ display device.

[ UPDATE ] It seems it was just a hoax only. Sony Mobile GB has posted a picture of Xperia Z3, where they wanted users to take the pic of the solar eclipse happening through Xperia Z3.

“NO” Android Lollipop Update for non-Xperia “Z” series users – Sony says in tweet

A few days back if you remember Sony tweeted with confirming that they are in final stage of testing Android Lollipop update for Xperia “Z” series users, while for other Xperia users fate of Android Lollipop update was hanging in balance till now but some tweets have come up from Sony which are stating bad news for those users.

As per few tweets made by Sony Xperia official account on Twitter, they mentioned that Android 5.0 Lollipop update will “only” be available for Xperia “Z” series users and not for other Xperia smartphones.

Xperia devices other than Xperia “Z” series which were earlier expecting to get Android Lollipop included Xperia C3, Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia T3, Xperia M2 Aqua, Xperia E3, Xperia E1, Xperia M2 but now it seems they won’t be getting it anymore.

This seems very vague to us Sony not giving Android Lollipop update to other Xperia smartphones other than Xperia “Z” series.

We have also tweeted to Sony to confirm this whether it is really true or not, awaiting their reply.

If the above tweets are to be believed as firm words of Sony and they are not going to release new and stable Android update for other Xperia smartphones other than Xperia “Z” series then what is the point of releasing them in very first place ? Why not focus on selling on Xperia “Z” series only ?

We are still expecting from Sony to say this officialy on their blog also to clarify it in a better way rather than making tweets.

Sony teases Xperia Z4 Tablet will have PS4 Remote Play

Sony has already released two teasers for their MWC 2015 event where they are going to launch Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia Z4 Tablet and continuing the streak Sony came up with the third teaser which confirms the PS4 Remote Play coming to Xperia Z4 Tablet as well (first seen in Xperia Z3).

Sony’s MWC event is schedule on 2 March 2015 where Sony will release two new devices which have already been confirmed by so many leaks.

“Get ready to make a splash” – Sony’s 2nd teaser for MWC 2015 out

Sony Mobile has just tweeted the second teaser for upcoming MWC 2015 event with tagline “Get ready to make a splash” just after a day when they first teased Xperia Z4 Tablet with caption “Slimmer. Lighter. Brighter“. “All will be revealed on 02.03.15.”

Sony posted a screenshot (possibly the homescreen) from the device (possibly to be launched at MWC 2015) with clock ticking at usual 10:35, splashed with water.

As per the leaks seen till today it seems Sony will definitely launch Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC, both having IP68 water resistance certification.

Next big thing from Sony this season coming, Is it Xperia Z2 Ultra ?

Sony Mobile has tweeted today about its next Xperia device coming this season as “Shh… do you want to know a secret? Stay tuned for the next big thing this season.” It seems that Sony is about to launch a new Xperia device and it may be the successor of Xperia Z Ultra as “Xperia Z2 Ultra”. If you remember last year 2013, Xperia Z Ultra was launched at the same time i.e. mid year 2013 and now is the same period going on.

Sony has also tweeted the pic of this said upcoming Xperia device where in background we see a model in red color ( image out focused ). Right slim profile of device is shown with the volume rocker buttons, signature power button and external camera shutter key. Side profile of phone/phablet seems very thin.

Android 4.3 for Xperia SP,T,TX,V to roll out from end Jan/early Feb – Sony Confirms

Finally a credible news from Sony regarding android 4.3 ETA for Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V, today Sony Mobile confirmed that they will officially roll out android 4.3 for Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V from end Jan / early Feb 2014 as final preps are going for it and soon will become available. We know all users are frustrated now as we are getting so many queries regarding the ETA of android 4.3 from users as earlier Sony promised that it will be rolled in December 2013 but then it got delayed.

Today Sony Mobile made a tweet confirming that it will be rolled  “end Jan / early Feb 2014 ” sure and they know that users are going mad over the delay in rolling and they have apologized for the same many times in there tweet.

 

 
A few days back we saw Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.253 firmware getting certified on PTCRB and then later a new Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.256 firmware was certified on PTCRb but now it is removed which keeps us in dark that which android 4.3 firmware will be actually rolled out.

If you still want to taste the android 4.3 flavor on Xperia SP, then you can install the leaked Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.256 firmware ROM which only works for unlocked bootloader phone.

Sony delaying Android 4.3 for Xperia SP, No ETA yet “work in progress”

Xperia SP users are now bombarding us with comments when they will get android 4.3 firmware update as when it was promised to be delivered in December 2013 only. Android 4.3 12.1.A.0.253 firmware was certified a week ago on PTCRB website and a few days back we saw Android 4.3 9.2.A.0.276 firmware for Xperia T and Xperia V getting certified on PTCRB and now questions arises is Xperia SP getting android 4.3 at the same time with Xperia T and Xperia V now ?

We asked official Sony Xperia Support on Twitter regarding the ETA of Android 4.3 Xperia SP update and they replied that “Sony is still working on it” and should come soon though no ETA was given by them.

When we asked will Xperia SP gets android 4.3 in 1st week of Jan 2014, they decided to remain mum on this issue.

Sony announcing android 4.4 KitKat and android 4.3 plans next week – Which Xperia phones will get ?

Android 4.4 KitKat is official now, one of the major update for android operating system. With the previous release of android 4.3 jelly bean, Sony officially announced that whole Xperia Z family will get android 4.3 jelly bean including Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z, ZL, ZR, Tablet Z and Xperia SP, while some phones will be directly updated to android 4.3 jelly bean from android 4.12 ( names has not been disclosed yet ).

With Android 4.4 in front line, next most important question is which Xperia handsets will get android 4.4 KitKat update and when ? Some official wording has come from Sony on this now.

Above tweet clearly says that Xperia users will get a solid info on the android 4.4 KitKat and android 4.3 update for them. Hopefully Sony will tell the approx. timing of rolling update and the phones getting it.

Android 4.4 includes “Project Svelte ” which is an effort by Google to run android 4.4 KitKat even on low memory devices with 512 MB RAM, so can we also expect it on low end Xperia handsets.

Some previous leaked images of Xperia Honami has confirmed 20.7 MP camera with 1/2.3″ sensor with G-Lens”. Image posted above confirms “G” lens but no info about its MP, it can be edited not to show now or not.

Till now as seen from other two Xperia Honami teaser images from Sony Mobile some features are confirmed from hardware aspect like “Water Resistance, External Camera button, 3.5 mm Water Proof Headphone jack“.

At a price of €729 Xperia Z Ultra will be the costliest phablet in the market as per now but seeing it’s features the price is accurate afterall Xperia Z Ultra is the world’s fastest smartphone with largest full HD Display 🙂

There are also rumors that Sony €719 in the Dutch / Netherlands market, so we expect the Xperia Z Ultra will be launched around some €650 to €700. If price is speculated same will be seen in Indian market at around Rs 52000-Rs 54000.

Well till now no Xperia SL LT26ii and Acro S LT26w user have reported this Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.200 firmware update but by the end of this day, the update will be surely rolled on out on these phones.

What does this all signify, has update rolled out or is in final development stage. By looking at their tweet it seems the update has been rolled out but we didn’t see any update notification on our Xperia SL LT26ii neither in PC Companion nor in SUS. Check below screenshot.
