A new 14.3.A.0.761 firmware has been spotted rolling on Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact where same 14.3.A.0.761 firmware was spotted on Xperia Z1 L39h in early May this year. 14.3.A.0.761 firmware is available via OTA update only as reported by many users and not seen on Xperia Z Ultra yet.

14.3.A.0.761 firmware seems a minor bug fixing update only as it is of less than 2 MB ( 1.9 MB ) size via OTA. 14.3.A.0.761 firmware is mostly seen on C6903 variant, only a few C6902 users reported this update. 14.3.A.0.761 firmware not seen in India and other Asian regions, mostly available in European regions. Just letting users know that recently a higher build as 14.3.A.0.769 firmware has been certified on PTCRB which we may see eventually getting rolled in future. Battery drain bug is fixed for Xperia Z1 users and overheating for Xperia Z1 Compact as mentioned by many users.

After buggy KitKat update from Sony, 14.3.A.0.757 firmware was released to fix those bugs but unfortunately they are still there as users are reporting them.

Sony Voice balloon photo app allows you to put text on the photo in form of balloons by recognizing the voice of the users around the camera. You can edit the words spoken, put them in three different style options and can really give words to your beautiful pic captured. Let’s see how it works.

Today Sony Mobile has confirmed that they have started rolling Android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact. Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia ZR will be coming in mid Q2 and Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia M2 and Xperia E1 will also be getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat update but no specific date mentioned for them yet by Sony.

Sony has updated the Android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware build for Xperia Z1 on it’s software product page. 14.3.A.0.681 firmware update will come soon on Xperia Z1 now worldwide. A very good news for all Sony Xperia fans, Sony Mobile has just now confirmed that Android 4.4.2 KitKat roll out has started for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact. No exact build number is included in the post but we expect either 14.3.A.0.681 or 14.3.A.0.747 firmware to come on Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra handsets as KitKat firmware.

Sony has also mentioned that they will be rolling android 4.4.2 KitKat for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia ZR in mid Q2 2014 and Xperia T2 Ultra / Dual, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 will also be upgraded to android 4.4.2 KitKat but no specific date for rollout mentioned yet.

KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware certified for Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact – Android 4.4.2

After a long wait something credible regarding android 4.4.2 KitKat rollout for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact have come up, just now a new 14.3.A.0.681 firmware has been certified on PTCRB for both phones. A few days back android 4.4.2 KitKat 14.3.A.0.681 firmware build was spotted rolling on Xperia Z Ultra C6833 which is believed to be either internal leak or an update over a developer’s handset and day before yesterday we saw new 14.3.A.0.747 firmware running on Xperia Z Ultra.

At present 14.3.A.0.681 firmware is certified only for Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 and Xperia Z1 C6943 variants, nothing spotted for any varaint of Xperia Z Ultra yet. It is very much believed that this 14.3.A.0.681 firmware build may not roll out as a few days back Sony has started testing a new higher build 14.3.A.0.747 firmware for Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra.

Xperia Z1 14.2.A.1.144 firmware rolled on Movistar carrier in Spain

Android 4.3 14.2.A.1.144 firmware update was recently certified for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact and was expected a carrier based update only just like 14.2.A.1.142 firmware update which rolled on Deutsche Telekom carrier only for Xperia Z1. Just now 14.2.A.1.144 firmware update is confirmed rolling on Xperia Z1 C6903 on Movistar carrier in Spain only for the time being, not spotted on Xperia Z1 C6902.

14.2.A.1.144 firmware update hit the Xperia Z1 Customization 1276-8653_R10B and the concerned 14.2.A.1.144 firmware ftf is now available for flashing. It seems only a big fixing carrier update with some minor changes only. Check the firmware ftf below.
