Sony launches Xperia Z3+ & Xperia Z3+ Dual globally

Sony Mobile has officially announced Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z3+ Dual globally today and as a surprise the name of handset is not Xperia Z4 which was recently launched in Japan (though Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 features same design and specifications).

Xperia Z3+ features Snapdragon 810 64 bit Octa core processor (2 GHz) with 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage (with micro SD card support). It features 20.7 MP camera 25mm wide-angle, 1 / 2.3 inch size sensor (ISO 12800). It features 5.1 MP front camera (25mm wide-angle). Xperia Z3+ weighs 144 grams and is 6.9mm thin with 5.2″ FHD Display (1920 x 1080 resolution, no 2K) packed in an aluminum frame with glass back.

Xperia Z3+ features 2930 mAh battery (which is less as compared to Xperia Z3 & Xperia Z2). Xperia Z3+ comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box (5.0.2). Xperia Z3+ is IP65/68 certified (with capless USB port). In terms of design, Xperia Z3+ is a combination of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 but slimmer, lighter, and powerful.

7.3mm slim Xperia Z3 launched with Dual SIM, PS4 Remote Play

Sony Mobile has launched its second flagship device Xperia Z3 for 2014, following the legacy of Xperia Z2. Compact siblings of Xperia Z3 i.e. Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact also marked their appearance along with Xperia E3 / Dual, Sony SmartWatch 3 SWR50, Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30.

For the first time Sony has launched their flagship device from Xperia “Z” series as a Dual SIM variant for selective countries and nano SIM enability. Sony has dumped the purple color for its H2 Xperia handsets this time and introduced two new colors Copper and Green which will we available globally.

Xperia Z3 features 2.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB RAM, internal storage 16 GB packed in 7.3 mm slim aluminium frame. Sony decided to keep the same screen resolution on Xperia Z3 like Xperia Z2 as 5.2″ FHD with Triluminos Mobile display, featuring Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Xperia Z3 features same 20.7 MP rear cam with Sony Social Camera app but this time Sony introduced world’s first 12800 ISO sensitivity in a smartphone. It features a healthy 3100 mAh battery, IP65/68 certifications. Sony has improved the power management system on Xperia Z3, claiming it to last for 2 days on a single charge.

Xperia Z3 Pricing and Availability 

Xperia Z3 Price is still unknown while it is expected to hit markets in late October this year. Sony is asking users to pre-register for getting Xperia Z3.

Sony D6653 Xperia Z3 about phone screenshot leaked with S801 processor

A couple of days back we saw Sony D6653 getting certified on Indonesian Postel where we assumed it as one of the new high end devices and now it seems the speculation has come true. Sony D6653 about phone screen shot has leaked confirming it featuring MSM8974AC Pro Snapdragon 801 processor ( possibly be 2.5 GHz quad core ).

Sony D6653 is speculated as Xperia Z3 seeing at the same time within last 24 hours confirmation has come on the existence of Xperia Z3 Compact D580X with an about phone screenshot featuring the same Snapdragon processor model. Seeing at screenshot and processor, Xperia Z3 is tipped to feature a 1080p screen rather than QHD which was expected.

Sony D6653 Xperia Z3 is spotted running android 4.4.4 version with 23.1.x.x.xxx firmware while Xperia Z3 Compact was spotted running android 4.4.2 version with 23.0.x.x.xxx firmware ( Notice the similarity between firmware versions ).

Are these Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact leaked photos ?

Sony came up with Xperia Z2 at MWC 2014 and Xperia Z1 Compact at CES 2014 but now it seems Xperia Z2 Compact was never a real deal as some alleged photos of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact are spotted. A close up of so called white Xperia Z3 and a black Xperia Z3 Compact besides it are seen in the pic, courtesy of Digi-Wo, having a good record of leaking Xperia handsets.

As per the rumored specifications of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, both are expected to run on Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB RAM and 1080p display screen. Take these rumored specifications and below posted images with a pinch of salt as no confirmation on authenticity of pics is there.

By looking at below pic you can see whole white colored panel on white Xperia Z3 which if came true will be seen for the first time in a flagship device from Sony. Side bezels are also very less but you can see top and bottom bezels are as usual huge. Hearing speaker and microphone is seen on top, bottom bezels respectively. Signature Omni-Balance design is still there whereas Sony said that they will bring a new design in next flagship model.

In below pic you can see black Xperia Z3 Compact besides Xperia Z3 ( in white ). It seems the same design is adopted in both handsets.

Checking above pics it looks the design is very much similar to Xperia T3 ( launched recently ). We are not expecting any flagship devices from Sony till September ( IFA 2014 event ) and yes H2 2014 flagship device has to come sure as per Sony’s policy of two flagship models per year.
