Asus Zenfone 2 hands on pics – First Look

Asus Zenfone 2 was launched a few days back in India in an event at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon where Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was present. Asus Zenfone 2 is the latest flagship smartphone from Asus. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML is the flagship model with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 Quad Core processor.

Asus Zenfone 2 is launched in 2 GB & 4 GB RAM variants. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML features 2 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage whereas Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML features both 2 GB and 4 GB RAM variants in 16/32/64 GB internal storage models. Asus also launched Zenfone 2 Deluxe View Flip cover priced at Rs 1599, ZenEar earphones priced at Rs 599, ZenPower power bank priced at Rs 1499, Lolliflash priced at Rs 799 and ZenFlash priced at 1599.

Asus Zenfone 2 looks similar to earlier Zenfone series launched in 2014 (Asus Zenfone 5 review here). Top bezel has Asus logo with front hearing speaker (metallic grill), front cam, LED light whereas on the bottom bezels, you will find the silver Zen series finish and capacitive touch buttons without backlit LED.

Back cover (plastic build with metallic finish) of Asus Zenfone 2 is removable, after removing it you will find dual SIM slots, micro SD card slot and a non-removable battery.

As the bottom side, it has micro USB 2.0 port and microphone.

At the right side of Asus Zenfone 2, there is slight groove for opening the back cover.

At the top side, it has a secondary microphone, power button and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

There is no port/slot on the left side of Asus Zenfone 2.

Back side of Asus Zenfone 2 has 13 MP rear camera, dual-LED flash, volume rocker keys are placed at back too (trend which was first spotted in LG G3), Asus & Intel branding and external speakers at the bottom.

Top bezel of Asus Zenfone 2 has LED indicator at the top right corner.

Asus Zenfone 2 is now available for purchase from Flipkart in India exclusively. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage model is available for Rs 12999, Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage model is available for Rs 14999, Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 4GB RAM/32GB internal storage model is available for Rs 19999 and Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage model is available for Rs 22999.
