Sony C6833 phone appears in Indonesian IT Communications certification

It has been a day only since we saw Sony Xperia A SO-04E launched under NTT DoCoMo and Xperia ZR globally. Just now we saw mysterious Sony C6833 phone appeared in Ministry of Communications and Information Technology – Indonesia certification program list just on 05/15/2013.

Sony C6802 is also present in the list just above Sony C6833, for the same date. Rumors are there that Sony C6802 may be launched under codename Xperia Honami or Xperia I1. News about Xperia Honami have been seen in past also online.

Sony C6833 Phone Appears online in Indonesian certification

Another rumor says that Sony C6833 may be launched under codename as Xperia Togari, expected to be launched as Sony’s first phone-tablet hybrid device. You can see Sony C1905 or C190X series or simply Sony C listed there just for one day back certification. Speculations are there that some of the device may be launched around IFA 2013 at Berlin.

Well nothing to say after all nothing is official yet, rumors are rumors only. But we can surely expect some high-end Xperia devices from Sony soon.

Sony Xperia France has just tweeted about a new Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2 10.1.1.A.1.253 firmware which is rolling out on Xperia Z handsets. Looks like Xperia Z is lucky to have so many firmware updates yet on Jelly Bean alone for better performance. The update still puts Xperia Z on android 4.1.2 jelly bean. Previously it was on 10.1.1.A.434 firmware build number.

Bootloader on your Xperia Ion LT28i must be unlocked. You can follow the official guide to unlock bootloader here.
Make JB .zip fw.
You must flash now stock ICS ROM.

It’s not over yet with Xperia Z and Xperia ZL this year it’s confirmed now more Xperia devices will be hitting market this year. The legacy will be continued by Xperia A SO-04E codenamed as Dogo which will be coming to NTT DoCoMo this year 2013. Just now the rumored Xperia A device has been confirmed by FCC that it is under approval. It’s neither a leak nor an official release.

Same set of earphones are seen as Sony dispatched with Xperia S and Xperia SL, we can see Sony Ericsson logo on them.

No Details about the processor of Xperia A SO-04E Dogo, it is speculated that it may come with Snapdragon-600 chipset but nothing can be said at this moment. Also the android version in the phone isn’t specified which still remains a mystery till we find out this. When seen in the Xperia A SO-04E Dogo user manual guide, Android Jelly Bean version can been seen, same as Xperia Z android 4.1.2 but nothing is said officially about android version yet.

On NTT DoCoMo site we can see that on 15th May 2013 they are releasing their new line up of smartphones for this summer season and we may see Xperia A SO-04E Dogo to be launched at that same time only.

Before flashing the ROM it always advisable to back up content on your device. To take a back up on your Xperia S/SL, connect your phone to PC > run PC companion > Click on option “Back up and Restore” > Proceed with further options shown on screen.

Bootloader on your Xperia S / SL must be unlocked. If it is not, do not proceed further.
Your Xperia S / SL must be on Android 4.0.4 ICS firmware build number 6.1.A.2.55, if it is not then please update your phone.

Reboot your device again, it may take a long time to do that, after updating ROM phone rebooting takes a bit time for the first time and after that is stabilize automatically.

What to do if Status 7 Error comes ?

As when you are flashing update.zip file via recovery, just extract boot.img which has pre-installed CWM recovery, from the ROM you pasted in your SD Card and then flash the file using fastboot then enter ROM and now flash it via recovery.

Sony C3 Images with MediaTek Quadcore chip leaked

Well is has been only a few months since Sony launched it’s latest flagship device Xperia Z into the market globally, now alleged images of Sony C3 device powered with MediaTek Quadcore chip is leaked online. MediaTek chip will overall reduce the cost of the device and it surely will be a budget smartphone from Sony. Last we saw Sony releasing another set of budget smartphones like Xperia L and Xperia SP.

As mentioned or has been in rumors, it is to be powered with a brand new quad core MT6589 processor or 1.5 GHz MT6589T chipset. some rumored specifications and features of Sony C3 are mentioned below :-

Expected price till now is speculated around 3000 Yuan.

Install Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean in Xperia U ST25i – 3.0.8 Kernel

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is rolling out now for many Xperia phones like recently we saw Xperia P LT22i getting android 4.1.2 jelly bean update firmware build number 6.2.A.0.400 on 3.0.8 old kernel version and Xperia Go ST27i also getting android 4.1.2 jelly bean update with same firmware build number and kernel version along with same baseband version u8500-49020911-P3A_EC05. A lot ago Sony made clear that Xperia U will not be getting android 4.1.2 jelly bean update as we know because of hardware limitations. But I can tell you Xperia U users are desperate to get a jelly bean update which unfortunately now not possible.

Bugs in ROM

Xperia Go customized kernel for Xperia U is not full functional at this stage there are many bugs present. We noticed that LED illumination bar is not lighted, neither camera has proper functionality yet. Sometimes phone may go in deep sleep. Touch is not very sensitive and battery drain a issue. So if you don’t wan to take a risk then do not update the below ROM on your phone. Proceed at your own risk, neither developer nor we are responsible for any damage you might cause in your phone.

Fortunately the recognized XDA Developer munjeni has successfully ported the stock android 4.1.2 jelly bean firmware of Xperia Go on Xperia U with kernel version 3.0.8. The boot image has only been designed for Xperia U so must be tried on on it only, take it as warning.

As soon as you run it, it will ask you to accept TOS, do it and proceed further.

Supposing now you have successfully installed Xperia Privilege Apk on your phone, as the Xperia Privilege app is supported by every Xperia smartphone but the promotional offer is only limited to Xperia Z only. So in order to get the Free £20/€25 Voucher on your Xperia handset, we need to do some editing in the build.prop file.

Device must be rooted, if it is then proceed further. With the help of your file manager, navigate to /system/ and open the build.prop file.
Now we are going to edit the build.prop file. Navigate to ro.product.model=<value> and ro.product.board=<value> and in place of <value>, we will add the value of Xperia Z which is to be put like Product Model = Xperia Z = C6603/C6602/SO-02E and Product Board = MSM8960.
Now your build.prop file must be showing ro.product.model=C6603 and ro.product.board=MSM8960.
Reboot your phone and you are done.
Open the Xperia Privilege app again and now you should see all promotional offers listed and your Free £20/€25 Voucher.
